DPS retrieval

Our DPS varies by route. Some are within 50 feet others are not. With the volume of DPS we get, several trips are needed to return the DPS our cases. We agreed to carry two trays at a time per trip. No equipment is available for all 13 routes to transfer it until parcels are ready.

 

Do we get paid for each foot after 50 feet on each trip or the total footage of all trips minus 50 feet?

--  That should have been addressed at District and at the office pre-count meeting.

--  You need to get the Assistant District Representative involved, like last week!

--  Carrying 2 DPS trays is probably a safety hazard!  Should a tray "buckle": 1) DPS will most likely be spilled, and 2) the carrier might make a move to save the falling trays, resulting in a strain or pulled muscle(s).

Page 5 of the PO-603, Section 142.3 -- Equipment and Supplies.   The USPS supplies ALL all additional NECESSARY equipment, supplies, and forms.

If you are forced to make a trip for DPS without using any conveyance, each trip counts if over 50 feet roundtrip each. Carrying 2 trays creates a hazard & a possible injury.

If those lazy clerks can bring DPS within 50 ft of 13 routes,then they can unload it by the cases. It wouldn't take them more than 10 minutes. If they" can't"  do it, tell the pm to hire a PSE.

Are clerks suppose to bring everyone's DPS to their cases and unload onto the floor?  How's it done elsewhere? Curious....

I work in a small office, so we do not have that problem, we have enough other problems.

I would think, putting the trays of DPS on floor isnt exactly a safe thing to do.

But its the PO, I have low expectations of how things are done.

In a large office like mine, ours are brought in stacked on bread racks & (on heavy days) also mixed in postcons. Approx 8 bread racks full at the end of our row lined up by the wall. We fetch our own (footage over 50) using our U-carts to tote them wherever.
