I have often thought of not pulling out any of the 3m mail (mis sequenced, mis sent, mis sorted) during mail count, and right after count asking for an official review. During the official review I would pull out every piece possible and the DPS review would most likely fail, and my route would gain 2 to 3 hours. If I was questioned about why there seemed to be a difference in the pieces that I pulled out of DPS, I would say it's just a coincidence, sort of like when the fliers, flats, and parcels don't come in, during count.

If your route is cut back after a review, that's a grievance. District tried that here and National shut them down.
Your route will gain after a negative review and there you will sit, raking in money, until September - when you will be triggered for a special count.

OI veh, I agree and am currently a 48+K awaiting count, and the money is nice. Bdtret, The steward inspecting our plant, today, is requiring the letter #'s and hours that the DPS machines have run for the past 2 weeks, to develop a letter per hour #. This is like a miles per hour that one can use to check performance for a car, then the machines' piece per hour will be checked for the 2 weeks of count. If the #'s are significantly different he will file a class action grievance for management creating a cleaner DPS product during count than was attempted before count therefore it won't be advantageous for extra "running" of DPS to create a cleaner product than usual. In other words, they better be honest this year.
