I’m in the process of hiring actually rehiring. I’m returning after leaving in 2002 and everything about the application process is different. I just went for my drug screen and I am on prescription medication that will show up. I told the hiring postmaster this. Will this automatically disqualify me now? I scored 3rd highest out of the applicants on the test and have several carriers vouching for me. I am really praying that this doesn’t keep me from getting the job. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

As long as meds are prescribed you should be ok. An HC runner got award with prescribed morphine patch in another office.

It will show up on your drug test. The company that's testing will call and ask if you are on any prescription medications. They will ask for just about all the info on your prescription including dates so keep your bottle close by. They will then confirm that info with the pharmacy somehow. Once that's confirmened and everything checks out they will report back to the post office with a passing result. I went through the exact same thing a year ago. Just keep your script bottle within reach until you get the phone call for that info. If you miss the phone call they only give you like 24-48 hours to call back with it.
It's funny the entire process drags extremely slowly when the balls in their court but when its in your court you better jump immediately.
Oh and nothing will get reported to the post office that your even on anything IF everything checks out properly.
