lordhelmetk98 -- "I am an RCA Sub who took over a 6 day a week 2.5 hour Auxiliary route, about a year ago due a regular getting sick. My name wasn’t put on route till about a month ago. I just started earning leave time."
-- Good Grief!! Get a hold of the Assistant District Representative. Might be able to get some of that lost earned leave time back -- but don't count on it! Annual and sick leave are based on hours worked on the AUX.
"The Postmaster is threatening to consolidate my route with another aux route with 3.5 hours, with a carrier that has more seniority than me. Can the postmaster take my route away from me?"
-- The PM sure can. Don't forget the route really belongs to the USPS although it is easier to take pride in servicing a route when one considers it "my route".
-- Unless the two AUX routes are far apart, kind of surprised the PM hasn't combined the two long before now or combined them with other regular routes.
-- Once you are no longer in a leave-earning status, any accumulated annual leave will be paid in a lump sum. Any sick leave will stay on the "books" for 3 years, although it may not show on the pay stubs. By all means, keep all of your pay stubs and Form 50's for documentation. You should also get a new Form 50 noting the change in status / designation.
-- Why is the PM "threatening" to consolidate the route? Have you offended the PM?
-- Part of the PM's pay is based on the number of routes in the office, so you are not the only one to be affected should the AUX be consolidated.
