Hold down question.

UPDATE: I held my ground when she came in. Magically she found another RCA to run the other route. Thanks for all your help!!

I did my best to find my answer, but didn't. I've gotten a few different answers and nothing concrete. I don't want to loss what I get for doing the hold down. So when my sup just asked me to run another route I said no. I don't want the clock to rest if I have to do that.

could you be more specific?

for example, do you mean that you are currently carrying a route for which the carrier is long term absent and the stupe wants to pull you off for another route?

or do you mean what are the particulars for carrying said route long term?

Sorry. I'm the new sub on record as the old one chose her aux route over the hold down she did for 90 days. The regular could be out for 6 to 12 more months.

My sup called/text me that another sub will be out 5 days and she needs me to cover that route tomorrow instead of my route.

My sup called/text me thaanohert

yah, no.

if you are the primary on that route, you are entitled to run it.

and don't let them pull you off once you reach 40 hours. you are entitled to carry the weekly evaluation. so make sure you work your full evaluation. (get your OT)

also, after 90 days, you earn leave.

DON'T WORK THE OTHER ROUTE!! if direct ordered, do so, but grieve immediately.

There is an MOU stating that management requiring you to work another route would not constitute a break in service, but unlikely management knows about it, so if you don’t want to work the other route, don’t.

More importantly, make sure management has appointed you to this vacant route through a new Form 50 changing your designation to 72 (RCA on long term hold in leave earning capacity) if it is certain the route will be vacant over 90 days. You don’t have to wait until you hit 90 days—they can do this now. You won’t get the leave (retroactively) until you finish the 90 days but at least there won’t be any delay beyond that.
