I would love to see the formal written rationale and justification including detailed cost analysis for electric vehicles. Politics is the only way a logical analysis could be overridden. Electric may (but probably not) be a better fit for warmer climate, shorter distance city routes. But, electric vehicles in my opinion still are in an early adoption unproven phase. What do you mean that your chargers aren’t working? Brownout, blackout, puking flux capacitor. Electric vehicles are pretty cool, fast, however also FRAGILE. Hey, I really don’t know why, but it only takes a couple days for a postal vehicle to be totally trashed. Look at all of your fleet, do you see any dings? I know just about every vehicle will have at least several dings. When that electric gets a ding, it’s done. Gasoline works so well, and is a lot less expensive. I believe the electric mandate was a flawed ideological exercise.
