How much notice to give in probationary period?

As an RCA in probationary period, how much notice must be given to separate from employment? If USPS can dismiss an employee at will, can the employee separate the same way? Employee has been working about a week.

If you think you may want to work for the post office again at some point, I would politely give them two weeks notice.

If there is no way you would EVER work for the post office again under any circumstances, you can leave out the part about being polite and the part about working two more weeks.

Probationary or otherwise, it is up to you. I just turned in my resignation...that was my last day. I gave the same amount of notice that I think that they would have given if I was being laid-off or terminated by them. Like it was said, if you intend on going back in the future, be cordial.

Also remember you took an oath to protect the mail, so if you quit on the spot do it before you ever touch the mail or after it is all been securely delivered...

Yes. Totally agree? and dear lord, please don't Uber quit on the route. Had 2 that have left the vehicle on the road and texted that they took ride share company home. The stupidity is astounding. Hello, felony.
