Stupid Rural carrier

Twenty some years ago I started at the usps, I thought I had found a good job with good pay, benefits, and an awesome retirement. Years went by and I was good at my job, I did it well and one of these days I’d be full time and I’d have it made. I’d be regular with my own sub, put some money back and retire. Then I woke up! Everything has changed. What do nice was the best job around is now mediocre, subs are hard to come by, and I’m now basically a city carrier. I didn’t want to be the Amazon man with a tracker strapped to my side, I didn’t want to have to wonder if my leave would be approved, I didn’t think I’d have to worry about being paid less and do more. I definitely didn’t think they’d micromanage me right out the door. But all this is what we have and they can’t even figure out why nobody wants to do it. I’m not sure what the future holds in this place but I do know it’s not that promising. I hope I’m wrong
