Good question. But hard to figure out ahead of time . So it’s pointless. Like few others pointed it out before , it probably will never go away. But it depends on area where exactly it will settle . But within a month or so of them opening up it will settle down and you will be able to find out . We have a big Amazon warehouse about 17/18 miles away , a distribution center about 7/8 miles away . Warehouse opened first . Then the distribution center 2 years ago . In between we also went through our packages rate changes , last mile delivery charge changes . Years back FedEx dropped Amazon , we dropped ups , new UPS contract etc etc . All these things has their effects actually. Leaving Covid time aside , if I look at last 10 years the percentage of my Amazon parcels went from 60% to 50% to about 35% now while total count of parcels remained almost steady last 5 years. And about 10 percent less than more than 5 years ago . But mind it this is happening while Amazon having their own delivery plus independent contractor delivery. How far will Amazon drivers actually travel from the delivery station to make their deliveries?
You're well within range. I receive all Amazon to my door from 3 different delivery stations. The furthest is 42 miles. How far will Amazon drivers actually travel from the delivery station to make their deliveries?
Good luck with a “rebuild”. This has not been happening in our District unless there is an Overburdened route in the same office. They’ve been leaving these H & J routes alone. You won't lose it all. However, the amount of Amazon that you will get will be dismally low. Thankfully your in-between cuts. I went from a 47k up to a 58k when we got amazon, and then they cut me down to a 43k BEFORE we lost amazon and my routes frozen atm. I will probably be forced to do a rebuild come March once the route hits its 52 weeks mark.
You need to be proactive about your route imo, from mapping to adding all boxes, case labels etc. Don't wait till the last minute; nickel and dime everything (as you should be already) I went from usually getting done at 3ish on non mondays to being done around 12-1, and thats me taking my time
Yes in Scarborough Maine our carriers in the distribution plant have lost 80 % of their amazonAmazon built a delivery station 27 miles from our office. We’re hearing they will officially open on November 12
What should we anticipate happening? Will we gradually lose our Amazon, walk in one day and it’ll be gone, or could we not lose it at all?

Yes, you’ll be losing a lot of your Amazon in the Scarborough distribution plant. Our rule carriers there have lost 80% of their Amazon packages.Amazon built a delivery station 27 miles from our office. We’re hearing they will officially open on November 12

And in between you haven’t delivered a single Amazon package? We lost all of our Amazon in West Central Ohio right as RRECS started. AMAZON built a distribution facility about 15 miles away and that didn't have any effect on us losing or receiving AMAZON. We delivered AMAZON for over 4 years without getting credit/paid as AMAZON showed up a month after the last real Mail Count. We grieved it for back pay and heard from National 5 years later that we lost. We were just told AMAZON is coming back right after the next mini-mail survey. This time we will have to wait only one year to get fully paid for AMAZON (Unless there is an MOU that says otherwise).
That is correct. No AMAZON at all during RRECS. The AMAZON facility was built several years before RRECS and we were getting 50 - 150 AMAZON packages a day PER ROUTE during the entire time we WEREN'T getting paid. Except 1 day when they did a "special" mail count on my route. That day I got 3. Even the PM laughed at the absurdity of that. And in between you haven’t delivered a single Amazon package?
I am still confused about the chronology . But it sounds bad . A rough date against all the changes would have helped me to understand. They built one the next town over last month and we lost about 90% of our Amazon. I could fit all the packages I had for the day in the front of the Metris (I think I had 3 dismounts its was wild for a 620 curb box route) Yet the town it was built in is STILL getting about 20 pallets a day which is strange. So that's why it really is a guessing game. This has been the LIGHTEST Christmas I have ever had in my 21 years at the PO. You can only hope you lose it all....different things happen in different places. My old office, every 6 months or so, it would come, and then go. You just never knowwith them. Far as I'm concerned, they can deliver all their own CCCRRRAAAPP!Amazon built a delivery station 27 miles from our office. We’re hearing they will officially open on November 12
