Misc time for misthrown parcels??

Yes. At least, that's what I took from the ADR's comments, and that's what we're doing at my office with no pushback from our supervisors so far. I'm a note taker, I wrote down the ADR's name and the high level management person he said agreed to it, in case the supervisors challenged us, but so far that hasn't happened.
I think this is a fair solution and am glad you have support for it. The more I delve I am finding high level management to be more carrier supportive.

I know I'm late, but in our region one of our union ADRs got management to agree to each misthrow being scanned: [RURAL ACTIVITY] -> [UNSCANNABLE PARCEL] -> [DELIVERED TO AUTHORIZED AGENT] (the authorized agent is the carrier who should have gotten the parcel).

At my office we are doing this for each misthrow and giving ourselves a parcel credit.

Again, that's something worked out specifically in our region but maybe you can use it to work something out locally.

EDIT - also I heard about it in a regional RRECS zoom meeting and made sure everyone started doing it at our office, I'm not sure how well it was disseminated to other offices in the region.
I like that idea, I am not even asking, gonna start doing it tomorrow.

None if your in the office, because you are not at or near a delivery point on your route.
Agent is not a mapped delivery point. I Thought unscans just added 1 for each to the "average" calculation that day. ie unscan to door will make pindrop but not assume address, and just be a +1 on top of the average dismount distance determined that day. I am likely wrong.

We were all told by PM to scan any misthrows as forwards and toss them to the correct carrier to get credit. So this is what our office does. For any misthrows with no barcode, its a random unscan parcel during the route somewhere.

It’s really easy handle it during load time. The only way to get proper credit imo. You may need to change how you do things to make Sure routes gets parcels before they leave.

Personally I case flats when I start, toss spurs into tubs by section. Big or ones that may not fit in box get set in section on nutting. Anything not mine get set aside to deal with when I start load.

Unscannable doesn't have a delivery point.

And you don't need to be "near" a delivery point to get credit anyway. The delivery point only matters to measure the distance for the walking footage credit.

"To the door", Left with individual", and (*hopefully*) "To authorized agent" should all give you a footage credit. If there's no mapped delivery point to get that distance, you should get some sort of average distance credit.

There’s that famous word, that gets many people in trouble….. “SHOULD”…..
BUT, we all live in the postal world, and we now know “should” means one of two things…. 1) it’s really nothing/it’s not gonna happen…. 2) don’t worry about it, it’s “built in”…..

If a customer comes to office to get a pkg over the counter from clerk the RRECS guide SAYS the route gets credited? And again I say SAYS...do we really? WHO KNOWS? HOW is it being credited-to door, mailbox ?What? If mgmt or a sub runs parcels during peak season it SAYS the route is credited for those parcels? DO WE? It says if you stop at a box with no informed delivery mail and for outgoing you get credit for stopping? DO WE? We literally know nothing on any of this if we are getting credit for ANYTHING we do of the activity scans...Prove this and 1000s of other concerns! No data results of 52 weeks...there are so so many unanswered questions and doubts. I am beginning to wonder if we are being credited for ANYTHING of the the activity scans other than the sacred 6 we must do and that is why we MUST do them bc that is all that matters? Chaotic system to say the least and whats really sad is that our pay is based on this mess!
