I was looking USPS ecarrers at all the full-time gigs available in my state when I noticed a new job title: temporary carrier assistant. Not CCA, not RCA, hmmmm?

Look up MOU M-01916. Started March 30. It's been extended.

Gotrope et al -- " temporary carrier assistant" per MOU M-01916 ( thanx, "FrozenToes" ) is being used by the NALC to replace city letter carriers absent due to Covid-19.

-- The original MOU was to expire 27 MAY 2020, but has been extended through 25 SEP 2020.

-- On the "plus" side, TCA's will work only in their employing facility for the duration.

-- No mention in the MOU if the TCA position would lead to a CCA or regular city carrier position.

If they can't find bodies for full-time, career benefits off the street...what's the point of this? Am I missing something? Seriously, we have lots of postings for regular status jobs for new hires, no waiting.

Perhaps that is a postion for the holidays, but that makes to much sense, so I am probably wrong.
