New RCA training - mileage paid or not?

I apologize if I missed a current thread on this but the last thread on mileage for training was from last year.

So question is are they going to pay mileage for training and academy still? The one thing that I very quickly picked up on is that nobody really knows and directs you to ask someone else.

Trainers in class said no mileage, other RCA’s have said yes, city carriers that did our driver training said no so I’m at a loss of do I fill out for mileage or not?

My office didn’t even now that I was hired or starting so it’s been a fun adventure all the way around and so far a different answer from each person I ask about what the process is but I’ve driven over 700 miles for training in the last week so mileage would be helpful since I have another week of driving to finish.

True but I would add..
Mileage is only paid if distance between home and home office minus distance between home and training office are greater , and then if greater than 50 miles you are allowed per diem and hotel costs

I am 2.1 miles from my home office and 76 miles one way from training office so it was my understanding to claim 76 - 4.2 x 2 for the daily mileage. I’ve driven all week so I won’t need hotel costs but sadly all 33 people in class were all told the same thing, foot the bill for travel. Some traveling farther than I have ?

Just to correct the math its ((76 - 2.1) x 2) or (152 - 4.2) either way the answer is 147.8 miles multiplied by current ema.

Correction insert (Travel mileage rate) where I typed ema!

This is the way they did it when I was hired:

A-B=C
A = (the mileage from your residence to the training facility)
B = (the mileage from your residence to the work office)

Once you figure out what C is, double it to get round trip mileage. Then multiply it by number of days.

They basically don't want to pay you for the mileage you would normally drive to and from work.

Looks like you are owed a nice chunk of change! Don't forget to add in the per diem!

I liked the old days. I would provide the trainees with a 1164 the first day of orientation. I also liked the times I traveled to an airport the PS uses on Sunday to get on a plane at 6 am to attend Monday afternoon training. NOT!!!!
