He stated at my union meeting that they would have loved to get rid of Table 2, but then they would have to lose Christmas OT.

Traded millions $$$ to our craft so that a handful of people could make an extra 500 bucks once a year. Tens of thousands of carriers would have received $20,000+ raises so that some table 1 scabs could get a weeny Christmas bonus.

Vote the whole lot out!

Shoot the way Christmas is going anymore for me, I would love to get rid of Christmas OT. I was right on evaluation the whole time never went and was under by hour or two.

How dumb of an argument, in 3 weeks you aren't going to even come close to the different of table 1. PLUS ANYTIME I got slammed during Christmas, I would get help.

I see a strong front being built to bring about change. The problem is, the other side is the one that will benefit from these efforts.

We haven't received Christmas overtime in years in our office. There was always help if needed to avoid paying out overtime those 3 weeks.

Table one is why we can not get people to come to work

Another example of Timing is everything!

Friends of mine purchased a house (exacting identical to mine) 5 years before me and at a price much lower than I paid. Are you saying the sales price should be the same because it is owed to me!

Yep, and not just price, but interest rate timing as well.

My previous home was a subdivision new build that took 8 instead of the "projected" 6 months to build. At 6 months, the builder had an almost identical home ready for quick move-in and I told them that I'd take it instead because they couldn't meet the timeline. They wanted another 50K for it as the new going price of 250K instead of 200K. Of course I wouldn't do it, but the instant equity made the wait alot easier to accept.

Sorry.. I was wrong.. It was Morty who.called us scabs.
I think folks on table two have a right to be pissed. 10k would go along way to help my wife and I get out of some costly medical expenses. I don’t take it personally against table one people. But I do find is extremely unjust to do the same job, even been working next to some for over 10 years and I’m not near what they make. It’s pretty hard to swallow. But we should probably leave the bashing elsewhere I think.
If I were to weigh out Christmas OT vs my 10k bump?? Is that even a contest as to what brings more in to one’s family? If that was truly what happened I probably shouldn’t be shocked but here I am shocked.

Hypothetically if there are 40,000 career table 2 carriers @ $10,000 instant raise for trading christmas OT for table 2. That's 400 MILLION dollars in the pockets of young people just starting a family or old people trying to make it because they didn't save for retirement.

Don Maston serves someone, but it ain't the working men and women in this union! No way christmas OT pays over 400 MILLION dollars!

These people represent the post office, not the members of this association.

There needs to be a binding resolution: in contract negotiations, the number 1 priority is to eliminate tables 2, 4, and steps a b c on Table 1. If eliminating christmas OT and J routes accomplished this, then the board must pursue it at all costs.

And yes, I called the board and anyone that supports them scabs. They work for the betterment of management and destroy our wages. $400+/paycheck raise wasn't worth giving up christmas OT???
