The NRLCA Academy Facilitator Task Force was in Washington, DC this week attending meetings with Postal Service Headquarters and wrapping up proposed updates to the training curriculum for Assistant Rural Carriers (ARCs)

Hard to train when they cant ride with us anymore. There is so much to learn on the street not in the office. Since we got the vans with one seat training has been much harder and the carriers dont get as much info as they used to which is needed to be a successful carrier.

This is from The F-21 , Section 587.13 ;

Standard Program

The standard training program for rural carriers consists of a minimum of
24 hours (3 days) of classroom instruction using simulation, followed by a
minimum of 24 hours of on-the-job training (OJT),
which may be conducted
in increments of less than 8 hours but not less than 2 hours per day. Each
office has the option of adding time to allow practice in casing and delivery
and to cover local policies and procedures

Perhaps the Metris could be switched / swapped for a LLV with a jump seat for the training. The training is supposed to be WITH the regular carrier.
