Newspapers brought to office

We get daily and a weekly newspapers delivered at dock, does not go through plant. Union says it’s counted so we could not count them during mini count and on report. It’s not on any report I have seen. I deliver over 1200 papers a week and it’s not under bundled flats.

Not saying any of this is right. This is what we were told.
Are any being entered as boxholders or WSS?
If they come in labeled bundles to each individual route, they are reported. ie: route1 gets 5 bundles, route 2 gets 3 bundles, route 3 gets 4 bundles....
Non labeled bundles counted as raw.

I believe it is on something called PostOne or something like that.

Does it go to everybody? We get papers to as an EDDM. We use a Flats Boxholder RRECS scan.
We enter weekly paper that goes to everyone but daily paper is not full coverage. Also entering that only credits box coverage for day on reports it shows nothing for flat credit.

This is just another example of why we should be grieving this entire thing if everyone ends up taking a big hit. No one knows the answer to anything and everybody is doing things differently. If you happen to be in an office where the PM is giving you extra credit for all kinds of things, great!!! but if not??? well that's really not a fair way to determine pay.

Clerks do one scan for office on papers it’s not broke down by route and the scan is just to know how many total papers in my office they need to be charged for.

I get newspapers that are dropped at the po also. PM couldn't find anywhere we were credited for them so he gave us credit for them. He did find out that the route number on the papers are incorrect as at 1 point I was route 2, now I am route 032. So he thinks that might be why they weren't already counted. But who knows, none of my numbers matched.

I want to see the numbers in black and white , otherwise, file a grievance

From the RRECS Q&A:

4. What will be captured (counted) in the mini mail surveys required by RRECS?

A. As little as possible. Basically, only mail that is sorted in the office by clerks, or any mail that is not processed and counted on automated equipment the rest of the year.

218. In my office I have a large number of newspapers dropped off at our front door. How do I get compensated for these papers since they are not counted for volume like flats that run through the Postal Service?

A. If these newspapers are WSS saturation mailings, they would be recorded on the MDD as received each week throughout the year. If not, then ALL mail not accounted for elsewhere in RRECS will be counted and recorded during the mini mail surveys.
