Not approved for a day off to go to a doctor's appointment.

I applied last week for a doctor's appointment on march twenty fourth, the post master said " we can't approve your time off until we have subs" this appointnent was moved two times before last year and now my prescriptions are about to run out. Can the postmaster punish me for going to my doctor's appointment without approval? The doctor's appointment is on my relief day but the problem is we don't have any subs. My regular postmaster quit two weeks ago, and my temporary postmaster is from an office 30 miles away and she denied my time off.

Their lack of hiring subs is not your problem.

Looks to me, that the temporary post master has a route to run when you go to the doctor.

Remember, safety is up to you. And you need this doctor appointment to keep yourself safe.

Call your district rep and have him/her have a char with your pm about your sick leave denial. She can ask other offices, like the one she was working in, to send over an Rca to work that day.

.....with that said.... Prepare to fight...absent a win in the near future, remember that a lot of doctors do video appointments over the phone. I've had to do a few like that, I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this....there is a ton of info on this site on how to fight this....so check it out, and take the battle to your MORON pm...

Use eLRA that morning of to put in SL. When asked, point out your mental health began to suffer after management forced you to neglect your physical health. In that frame of mind its dangerous to operate a vehicle and carry mail. The reasonable thing to do is see a doctor right away because hey, safety first.

Great suggestion! I often forget the convenience of Telehealth even though I'll still try to avoid doctors when I can

Had someone put it for the night before and got a letter of warning. They said a prior history of call outs earranted it, but they only cited two that were months apart...
