Do I have to file a grievance if I haven’t been paid? I had 2 grievances settled back in June. I’ve asked my union rep. for advice he told me to send him my pay stubs.

I’ve provided that info to both management and union with no response.

This is the biggest crock when union reps say you have to prove that you haven’t been paid. If you have a signed settled grievance, that is a binding contract that they (USPS) are required to prove that they upheld the agreement and not the other way around.

Actually the vast majority of carriers have no idea how to read/understand their paycheck. The steward should do their due diligence to make sure there really is a problem before you claim it hasn't been done. Trust me, I know this from actual experience!!

Not necessarily, it depends on how it is done. It will only say that if it was paid through GATS. If the correction was done with payroll adjustments it would not say that.

I won a grievance in 2003 and never was paid. And believe me I know how to read my paycheck. I guess most don’t and that’s why every time I’ve ever talked with a union rep about a pay issue they are skeptical and even when you prove it to them they always try to make excuses for management blunders. Anyway I was supposed to have been paid for 3 missed J days. Back then I did not know how sorry the union rep was and thought I would eventually get paid. Is there not a way that Eagan ASC would have a record proving(which they won’t) they ever paid the settlement?

And maybe it’s wrong but AI told me if I still have the grievance where the pm at the time signed off on it saying adjustments will be made that it is a binding contract that the USPS will have to honor and that I will not have to prove payment was never made but they bear the burden of proof.

This is correct!!! When I recieved an $11,000.00 plus check for a grievance that I won, That is what it said on the check.

If your union rep is not doing their job....FILE A FAILURE TO REPRESENT. Get them fired, and outa there...
