Probationary Period

i have been an RCA at my post office for 6 months and I'm struggling to find out how much longer I have until my probation is up.. I was told that I had to count the days in my pay stubs but the way the pay stub is structured it is a little confusing some days say A k 999 and 998 some days have my evaluated time and others have 23 hours 13 hours etc if anyone could simplify this for me or even give a tip on how to figure this out I would greatly appreciate it

From this point on, make sure you have a pocket calendar that you write down every day you work, even if it's just parcel help for a few hours.  Each day counts towards your probationary period.  I know that doesn't help you figure out how many days you have up until now, but it is a good way to keep track and make sure that you're getting paid correctly.

The second column on the pay stub RSC/LEV is for the type of day you covered:  A - annual leave, J - J day, K - K day.  The number under LEV is the route number you covered for that day, 998 is auxiliary assistance - this is on my pay stubs when I help another sub complete a route or do a parcel run for a regular carrier.

You can get a rough estimate of your days worked based on what type of route you cover (J, K) and multiplying the number of weeks since you started working the route.  You can add in your training LLV and academy, shadow day, and in-office training.

If you use an android phone and have it enabled you can use google's timeline feature. It tracks you everyday so you can see what days you worked ect. Using the paycheck will be very hard as somedays you work a route(K eval time) plus you have 998 time which is still one day.

But in 6 months if you have been working 3 days a week you would be around 80 days worked if 4 days a week it is over 100 days worked.

The online version of our Pay Stubs is much easier to read and understand than the paper one

Under E-Payroll on the LightBlue site.

You still have to hand calculate the days but it is better.

And don't ask manglement how close you are to clearing probation. You don't need they to know you're on day 89 and then terminate you.

Do your best to calculate the days.

Looking back on my records from day 1, it took me exactly 5 months to work 90 days. This was working about 4 days a week, give or take.

Although nowadays I see new RCAs working much more frequently than I did when I first started (including Sundays), so I imagine if you've been working 6 months you probably have 90 working days already.

Yep, 100%. You would think they would just make it the same both on paper and online, but nope; just another way to waste money by having to compose two different documents.
