PSE Clerk running Aux route

I'm certain that this is a grievance. PM introduced PSE Clerk on the floor as an RCA from another office, found out later she is a PSE Clerk at our 2 hour office in the next town. RCAs were happily splitting the Aux route for months until there was a conflict between 2 of the RCAs. He decides to then bring in the PSE Clerk (formerly a RCA in her last job assignment) to be trained since she has a POV she used to work out of and she has been working on Saturdays ever since. How exactly should I word it and where in the contract can I cite this issue? What should the remedy be?

The remedy should be back pay for the RCA's that should be splitting the route. Cite the order of consideration, where it tells who works and when. As long as the RCA's wouldn't work over 12 hours, that pse shouldn't be working. The grievance should ask the question, in the complaint area, "Did postal management follow the contract when working another craft member on a rural route, when RCA's could have split the route?". To receive all the back pay for the missed work you will have to claim that the "knowing " the  newby was not an rca was just made known to you. Otherwise you will get back pay for two weeks.

I thought only PTF clerk can only run routes when needed not PSE but only as long as they have had llv training but not sure how that works for pov routes. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

redundant employee -- "I thought only PTF clerk can only run routes when needed not PSE..."

--  IMHO a PTF clerk is still a clerk and as such should not be crossing crafts.

--  The "Dual Appointment" program ended 13 JAN 2012.

THIS was explained to me just yesterday.  SOME PSE clerks are eligible to carry on SATURDAY, PROVIDED that clerk has been through training AS an RCA.  Which in this case, having FORMERLY served as an RCA, this clerk HAS received the appropriate training.  Sorry to tell you, no grievance here.

Kambella -- see if the Assistant District Representative would get involved on this.

--  Politely ask to see something in black and white regarding "Bubba2017's" posting.

--  She might have been an RCA,  but now she is a clerk.

--  The two RCA's might want to try a grievance and get paid for the work the PSE Clerk did and does.

--  Things have changed since I last walked out the door and this could be one of them, though I doubt it.

No crossing of crafts unless there is an emergency, that means no one else available.  Regular carriers would have worked before the Pse  and the RCA's before the regular (on or off the list). I believe you have an easy win as far as grievances go. I'm guessing Bubba was "explained"  to by a very "helpful" manager.

I'm just guessing here but I bet your supervisor was the one who "explained" this rule to you. If that's the case, rest assured it was a bald faced lie. If it was another employee, then they simply have no clue what the actual rules are and you shouldn't consult them concerning such things any more. Either way, lesson learned, right?

Refer to the Order of Consideration. Only in an extreme emergency, after splitting routes or trying to borrow an RCA from another office, should any other craft employee be used on a rural route. This would be a slam dunk grievance win!

No, you would have to look to the other side of the isle to have guessed correctly.

Somebody has their information wrong.

The position you may be referencing is the new ARC position 70-5.

902 MOU #13

They are for Sunday and holiday delivery of parcels. They can work a route on Saturdays if another sub is unavailable and can be used before the RDWL.

Maybe like order of consideration 5. A.
