PTF Clerk to RCA conversion

About a year ago I was an RCA until I converted to a PSE but now I'm currently a PTF Clerk. In my current situation I am limited opportunity and hours and tired of doing management tasks.I am really thinking of going back to carrier, I know I will lose benefits but at this time I'm ok with that.I applied for two carrier positions closer to home. Is there anything else I should know about when switching from career to non-career?

It's not a reassignment. If you want to be an RCA again you need to apply, if and when you get hired for the RCA job you'll need to resign the PTF job. You can do it anytime no need to wait. You may want to check out other career options available, such as a transfer or change to mail handler or city carrier. You could end up as an RCA (with NO benefits or retirement) for a long time before you make regular. Also if that's your real name you might want to change your screen name, not really a good idea to use your real name. Good luck!

Sorry, I should have made this clear at the beginning. No other craft may reassign to the rural craft, just as rural carriers can not reassign to any other craft jobs.

-- The grass is only greener over the septic tank.

-- You should have to resign your clerk position.

-- And take another postal exam for RCA ( or however they do it these days ).

-- Having been an RCA might get you out of the new Academy training and onto a hiring list faster.

-- Any seniority will be gone, but service time as a clerk may count towards your retirement.

-- Does manglement at the places you applied for know you are currently a clerk looking to change to the rural craft?
