our office is adding 4 more ptf! so we will have 16 total and 32 K routes without a primary! so this means no days off!!! they are doing it so they can keep subs because it has benefits and they can deny regulars time off! is this happening in other offices too? suggestions?
I worked part-time in a hospital at one time and once a year you got a payment that was compensation for benefits you didn't get as a part-time person. It was based on how many hours you worked and was a real incentive for part-time employees to get as many hours as they could; it also came conveniently after the end of the fiscal year in October, just in time for Christmas. I think a program like that would be a great incentative for RCA's.

I'm not certain I understand the concern or follow the math. PTF's have full benefits so, that's bonus. 16 PTF's are assigned a minimum of 2 primary routes and a max of five routes. 16 x 2 = 32 routes covered. So, two assigned routes per PTF covers all days off on every route with the PTF having 5 days off. Granted-you will have sick leave and vaca to cover but 16 total could cover 80 routes in 5 days and still have 2 days off.
