RCA insurance

Just a quick question. There are two tables One says RCA Apointment-First year and the second says RCA Appointment-After One Year. Doe this mean that you have to pay the amount on the first table for one year or is that just for new RCA's? I've been an RCA since 2011. Just a little confusing. Thank You.

Where is my discount as a REG?

The PO will be lowering their part to 72% for Career Carriers to line us up with other Federal workers.
RCAs don’t have a choice of insurance companies. They get the USPS Insurance at single rate or 65%/75% off depending on length of service for +1 or family. It’s a HUGE boost for RCAs that have families to provide for & hopefully will help to retain more subs.

In good health. No family eligible claim. No daily meds or goggles or piss poor Dental needed. $60 a month for those while mine is under HP104slf is 109.

Why did the bus hit me when I looked both ways before voting?

I think this is their intent, to retain RCAs. I'd been paying $7000 per year for RCA insurance for 2 people, which still has high deductibles. The dental side only covers cleanings. With the Amazon mess and $17 per hour, I was probably going to quit next spring/summer. (give them time to try to hire/train someone while there is enough daylight) Now, I'll stay as long as I can, if they don't try to farm me out too much.

They've created a class warfare element now, but without this insurance bump, I think the RCA situation might have gotten so bad, everyone would have felt even more misery.

Just to be clear, the RCA plan is $60 per pay period for self coverage. I'd take the FEHB options over the RCA plan any day - choice is worth something to me. But I do believe the RCAs under self plus one or family will be much better off today than before the contract was approved.

That said, insurance doesn't put food on the table. The pay for the newer RCAs should be at least $20/hr, and preferably the same as the older RCAs.

My wife and I are so excited for this. Holy crap, we're finally getting health insurance. I can't believe the post office is actually doing something good for us.

I bet they are holding their breath, hoping it will result in RCAs sticking with the turmoil to keep that insurance. It works for me, not sure how many RCAs realize or value the coverage. Depends on age and family situation, I guess.
