RCA on hold down. No coverage for holiday push

RCA covering a 42J since Sept. REG out with injury. Has been working 6 days a week since injury. No coverage available in APO/RMPO at all either. RCA position for all offices posted but no interest.

I understand the hourly pay after going over but is there extra compensation for going over 50 hrs for this RCA like they have on the city side?

City regulars have their own Xmas period and in the month of Dec. they do not get penalty (double time) for anything over 10 hours daily. Regular O/T (time and a half) for them. Pretty sure that they do not work over 12 hours, ever.

I also don't believe that CCA's get penalty O/T.  Should be same as RCA, time and a half for everything over 40.

CCAS do get penalty OT.

I wasn't 100% sure on that. They probably have the same December rules as the regular city carriers.

Once again the city side has a better union.

You should not be working over 12 hours a day.

ELM 37 page 167

432.32 Maximum Hours Allowed
Except as designated in labor agreements for bargaining unit employees or
in emergency situations as determined by the postmaster general (or
designee), employees may not be required to work more than 12 hours in
1 service day. In addition, the total hours of daily service, including
scheduled workhours, overtime, and mealtime, may not be extended over a
period longer than 12 consecutive hours. Postmasters and exempt
employees are excluded from these provisions.

Exempt employees are those on salary.

Sorry, no extra compensation over 50 hrs for the rural side.  </blockquote>
Actually, Regular carriers ARE compensated for any work over 56 hours in a work week. RCAs are NOT given extra compensation.
