RCA right to work primary route over another route?

A regular is out on AL for a couple weeks. It was my primary at one time. I changed my primary a couple months ago. Management never did train anyone else on my old route. So I am working my old primary while he is on AL. No problem with that.

But now.....

My primary took some sick days unexpected. So I would prefer to work my primary instead of my old primary. I'm sure management will balk at that since nobody else knows the other route....again, not my problem.

If there a section in the contract I can quote if I decide to push the issue?

The Order of Consideration puts Primary first over all other routes unless your Regular Carrier is working it.
Contract is Article 30.2.C & D

JMO, but I think you're going to run into some trouble with this--those wonderful catch-all phrases "needs of service" and "efficiency of operations" might be cited. Article 3 of the contract lists management rights, if you want to take a look at those, so I'm not sure if you would prevail in a grievance, but you may be able to talk your PM into it. Good luck.
