Hi,I was an RCA for about 18 months and lost my job in July because my DL was suspended. It got suspended for not paying a speeding ticket I received while working, in a USPS truck. The ticket came at a bad time financially for me, I was filing for bankruptcy and at the time it seemed like just another bill, so I included it in the BR.I kept the supervisor informed of all this while it was happening (hoping they would pay! I got called back during my route to deliver all Xpress on that side of town, I hadn’t had a ticket in 15 years) They didn’t want to see me go but said they couldn’t transfer me anywhere since I wasn’t a career employee.I resigned 2 days before my DL got suspended, I wanted to leave on a good note and wasn’t thinking about unemployment or how it would cause an issue.I know USPS doesn’t want to pay Unemployment, but I think EDD auto denied me because I “quit” During the phone interview the lady kept asking if it was over a DUI. I filed an appeal and just got notice to go to court. I feel life I have a legit case, but I don’t really know what to expect.Any help appreciated!!! Reason(s) I left:DL Suspension-Unable to pay $580 ticket. I Have “Past Due” notices for car payment, cancelation” of auto insurance, bank account balance under $10, bankruptcy, and other bills during the same time as ticket “due date”Hours Cut- A lot of the routes of my office got cut and we lost a lot of K routes. (This site saved a few!)Foot Pain-I got diagnosed with bilateral plantar fasciitis a month after leaving USPS and finally seeing a doctor.Wage Garnishment (did not tell USPS)-Only another Veteran might understand this, but USPS was garnishing my wages to due a AAFES debt I had in the Military. Because I was filing for Bankruptcy it made sense. If you "quit" you have to have good cause.
