I admit I'm skeptical of everything the union does, but my belief is the task forces they assemble are to give members the feeling they're involved, but in reality they just placate us so we think we are. The only suggestions we give the union that ever have a chance of moving forward are those that benefit the union or post office management. Feel free to cite any examples otherwise.

Dare you say that non-binding resolutions are a poor-man's pacifier?! Well, clutch the pearls, Nancy!

They aren't "just suggestions". It's the Association granting those in control discretionary authority to basically do whatever they want and hide behind "That wasn't our interpretation. Bring it to the floor next year through a constitutional change!"

It's the same tired argument pattern:

1) Deny/redefine the issue
2) Minimize the issue
3) Marginalize the issue
4) Evade connection to the issue
5) Argue ignorance of the issue
6) Argue justification for the issue
