so i might be getting fired this week..or not..

The conversation I heard this morning, Clerk said to HCR Contract Carrier "you have your Key?" Hcr Contract Carrier to Clerk "you told me to keep it at the Case because you don't want to touch it back and forth during this virus thing". Clerk to Hcr Contract Carrier "just checking".

This Arrow key isn't getting turned in to office at night, things are different at each office I guess.

John Wayne, at your PDI (that you should only have if your steward CAN be there even if only by phone due to the Covid thing) you should direct your answers towards how the day was different than any other day. This is reffered to as extenuating circumstances in the booklet on "Defences to Discipline" found on this site or the NRLCA website. These extenuating circumstances caused a break in your routine that made you forget your key in your route vehicle. The reason you left it there is because your office doesn't have a proper key check in policy, no clerk or manager there to sign off that you turned it in to them. Your office also has no rule about the key being attached to your clothing, apparently, or you would have had it attached and not forgotten it. There was a "furniture change" in the office that "threw you off of your routine" and all of those differences were the cause of you being unintentionally forgetful. You've never done this before and you have a good record showing no other infractions (hopefully that is true). You should end up having no discipline.

This pm has shown she is not here to help me. In fact, pm has been caught telling lies and half truths to try to get me in trouble. Pm has not said anything about attaching keys to my person, so we will just be quiet about that until it is brought up. I've already used the out of routine explanation. Pm didn't care. Pm will not accept good record. I've had to document every day how I didn't do anything wrong. Because pm will not acknowledge those days. Tried to tell me I missed scans. But couldn't come up with proof when I asked for it. This is what I'm dealing with

sounds like we might be belonging to the same club.
my PM is quick to jump into conclusions AGAINST me.
I'm thinking about EEOC (Disparate Treatment, Hostile Work Environment, etc.)

For MANY years, ours were kept at the case.... chains, never seen one...

20 years ago they took the key home every night. 10 years ago, old pm told me about emails looking for them when they accidentally got thrown in with the outgoing mail. which is what i initially thought happened to mine.

John Wayne, the things I suggested for you to bring up and make part of the record during your PDI have nothing to do with any actions your pm may or may not do. They are for you, to establish you had other reasons for your temporary loss of the key. Your pm will do what she does, these things need to be put into written record (at your PDI) so that "reasonable" USPS officials at your 2nd step grievance or one "reviewing and concurring" with discipline handed out by your pm will be lessened or completely rejected.

I'm starting to wonder if there are any.

well. now i have to put the keys in a lockbox, put the lock box in an unlocked file cabinet drawer, and put the keys to the lockbox in a different file cabinet drawer. usps logic at its finest.
New procedure... a tacit admission that previous procedures were lacking...

Also, this is extra time that you should be compensated for.... have you discussed this with your stewpot??? ?

Exactafunkinmundo.... they wanna hawk over you, and question your every little move.... are they following EVERY little detail of the C19 procedures???

I mean, didn't you previously say you're in a risk group.... so are they doing every procedure, and providing you all necessary supplies and equipment???? It could be a matter of life or death after all???
