trips to the cbu's ???

how many trips do we get for going to cbu to deliver mail??

my PM says only one, think he is wrong,

it used to be in our office up until the last mail count we received credit as follows,

1.open cbu and sweep for outgoing

2. deliver fss flats

3. deliver pull down mail

4. deliver dps to unit

5. if box holder this count for one trip

6. if second boxholder this was counted as a trip tocbu,,,

You see where i'm getting at, we used to get anywhere from 3 to 6 trip credits for each cbu, now the PM says one only, hmmmm like to see him try it,,,

what the the mail count say about, or anyplace else??

It's in the mail count guide that it is possible, on a heavy volume day, for a carrier to get credit for more than one "dismount distance" at a stop. (As in Monday's double to triple volume of mail and parcels, or the day you have to get a boxholder out when you don't case them.) But if your mgmt. is like mine, good luck getting them to allow it...you'll have to argue about it, then document and dispute. And wait. And wait. And then get told by the higher up honchos some excuse that basically denies you the measly credit for it anyway.

The "open cbu and sweep" is not its own trip as you should be carrying a tray or tub on the approach and carry your pulled outmail on the way back to retrieve more mail.

You should have gotten items 2-6 as listed, though. My PM agreed to give us the boxholder days as extra trips when it was brought up on our first Boxholder day. Otherwise our office only received 2 trips at each CBU stop since we do not have afSSq
