WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service will observe Juneteenth on Friday, June 19. All Post Office locations will be closed. Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Saturday, June 20.

All -- so nice that the USPS has been able to get advance notice of the Juneteenth Holiday this year.

-- If one remembers, it was signed into law on 17 JUNE 2021. And it was observed as a National Holiday on the 19th of June.

-- However the USPS was caught flat footed ( again ) so no holiday nor an extra annual leave day because of the "short" lead time.

-- Seems like it would have been easy to just give all eligible postal personnel an extra day of annual leave after the fact.

-- But that's just my recollection.

Just remember too when a president dies, we can stop on a dime for a day off, but couldn't do it for Juneteenth holiday in 2021 because it was too close as you said.....
