USPS releases new EMA charts effective October 3rd, 2026

Was only 1 route who got paid that way, I believe they retired a short while ago.
No you are thinking about the one "milage route" that was out there and yes he did retire. That was about the salary for the route being paid based on mileage not the EMA. This is for very short routes that have a large number of deliveries. When you "fit" into one of the categories you are paid based on the chart rather than a fixed rate per mile. The reason his numbers were blank is because the straight mileage is more.
