What Ever Happenned To Milkmint

I totally understand the angst about the pay tables, but must ask:

why are people willfully ignorant? I taught myself the contract (before finding this site) and asked questions non-stop to my ADR.

No offense meant, just an observation.

I guess I'm disappointed (again) with the NRLCAs lack of interest in even acknowledging or addressing this issue... the APWU and NALC at least have discussed it and addressed it as an issue...

I suppose if one of the other unions makes any progress, *MAYBE* the NRLCA will jump on board... but the NALC already has eliminated to 2-tier system for it most senior pay Step folks... haven't seen the NRLCA make any commitment to even try to do that for rurals...

Our academy trainer shows new hires the posted Table 1, completely unaware that the people she is showing it to will NEVER make that much. My understanding is that Tabld 2 maxes out at about $60K, but I’ll never get there as I’m a 46-year old RCA with bad knees....
This is about right, when I was at academy a union cat came in to get us newbies to sign up...one of his pitches was that he was making 30 something an hour with the best Bennie's and other bla bla. He was really smug and proud. A bit discerning now that I realize how my career will shake out.
I've been talking with the subs and regs about the tiers and most never understood that there is a huge inequality of pay.
Hopefully we all can make a difference... until then...
I'm taking what they're givin cause I'm working for a living.

What is the national agenda? What are the priorities within that agenda? In general terms but more specific than the categorical pay, benefits, and working conditions...

A very GOOD question... and, as dues payin' members maybe we should know... sadly tho, we do not...

If you're a Dem or Republican, at least you can read what is in the party platform... NRLCA, not so much...

I was sort of dumbfounded when I read that the APWU "rank and file" committee gave the thumbs down (n) on a proposed new contract that their "leadership" had agreed to... no such check and balance at the NRLCA... :censored:

Ring, ring it's 7am. Move yourself to go AGAIN. Cold water in the face, brings you back to this awful place! Tier 2 regular. The Clash, " magnificent seven "

Okay, when I'm, old and retired... and living on my pension... I'll ask that the Gen X'er or millennial flipping my burger be given a trophy for doing it so well, because that's just how they were raised... so, see... I'm pulling for ya... (y)

I'm on table one and I honestly feel bad for anybody on table two! For my route, on table one at step one I will be making more per year than anyone on table two for the same evaluation can make at step 13. Yes table two has 13 steps and table one only has 12 and it still doesn't help.
