who covers the route? PTF or RCA?

Office has a total of 12 K routes, 6 RCA’s,
1 PTF (2 of their 3 strings are in our office)

none of the RCA’s have the string routes as secondary/tertiary

So......

Who covers either of the string routes on days other than the carriers actual “relief” day (sick/appt etc) ? The PTF who is considered the “Primary”? or any available leave replacement?

Mgmts choice... PTF or Most Senior RCA when no matrix for a route. A PTF is only “guaranteed“ the total Hours of the String routes, not the actual routes themselves. Mgmt can be “strict” on scheduling only the String Relief Days & nothing else, or they can use them ANY time the Regular on a String Route is off. Mgmt can also use the PTF on any route over a Secondary or Tertiary RCA. PTFs have NO CHOICE in any of these scenarios although mgmt does typically allow their “input”.
