Auxiliary 5 and 1 Option Question

The other employee may try to claim that the regular is on annual leave and so the route is not considered vacant. The letter states that the route is "vacant or the regular carrier is on extended absense". The regular hasn't been on the route for almost a year but he is taking annual leave right now. Is this claim legit or am I good?

How long is the annual leave for? Extended absence is 30 days or more.

Article 10.5.A states that an RCA will earn leave benefits after 90 days of a regulars extended absence. I'm not sure how long the absence is for but supposedly it started over 30 days ago before the aux route came open.

It started the day the regular went off the route and management knew he would be gone.

So basically the RCA accepted the Aux and that would bump her off the vacant route. Any days she has been running the vacant route, should have been yours. Management should have made her chose between the Aux or the vacant route. It’s obvious management is aware the route will be vacant since the carrier is a 204b. The carrier taking annual while they’re a 204b doesn’t affect the RCA that is running the route.
