I have a friend who was a RCA back in 2003 to 2008 then resigned and now has just been hired as a new RCA. Do those 5 years worked in the past benefit her?
As an RCA that knows, your former time DOES NOT count toward the bid process, nor does it matter to the MATRIX. Continuous time in a single office is the key.
well all I can tell you from what I've seen is it truly comes down to who you know and that they know to hit the right keys on the keyboard, so to answer you yes its possible your friend could benefit. The contact says no once you've be separated from employment then thats it ends there. If you restart would be treated just as it being for the first time. Hope that helps. Take care now.

-- Yes.
- She should be able to catch on quickly and to be used on more routes faster than other "new" RCA's - although some things have changed since she left in 2008.
- Total prior postal service is sometimes needed to break a tie when 2 or more carriers are appointed from the same hiring list.
-- No.
- None of the RCA time counts towards retirement -- unless congress passes a bill, allowing previous RCA time to be bought back and utilized in the retirement calculations.
