PMG testimony yesterday at house oversight committee

The only way to stop repeated contract violations is to penalize the violation offender. That should change.

yes, there should have been a count every year and RRECS should have been used in tandem for one or two of those years ( or each year it was delayed) and two counts during the year it was actually implemented, Everyone would see how it changed there routes and there would have been time to make a transition. Line Loser, It's not a radical idea, it's obvious.
but our union did none of this!!!!! and hence the disenfranchisement of its members

1-Was it in their control to mandate this and did they try? If,,,,, RRECs was never delayed what was the original intended implementation? I've no idea.
they left counts out of the last 2 contracts, so yes they had the control. they sold us all a bill of goods that rrecs would save us amazon office but we had to forgo the counts to get there and many of us got violated like a forced prostate exam

BUT, you know it's only a matter of time until they change the rules on us to screw us even more. I'm sure our corrupt association will give them anything they want.

Our contract runs out May, 2024. Supposedly negotiations should have already begun for the new contract by this time, but RRECS is likely consuming any and all attention at the moment.

I’m extremely concerned about what the new contract proposal will look like. What does the Union possibly have to negotiate anymore? Attempt to mitigate losses to more benefits, or minimize management’s likely desired tweaks to the few standards that actually are to our benefit?

And if union members actually reject whatever contract is offered, no pay increases (paltry as they usually are) and no COLAs until some agreement is reached. I fear we are in a very bad position for this next round of contract negotiations.

You know I just laugh more and more I watch this. It is almost like he is unprepared for that question.

Maybe they need to ask about USPS and commercial budget. It is literally every hour. People know what we do. Why are we spending millions on commerical??? UPS and FedEx I don't ever see any but maybe once in a while.

I thought we cared about employees but not now. I do love the question dodging well we pay them for what we do. Why not mention all of the MASSIVE standards you screwed us over with. Oh wait that will really show what you guys did to the carriers and expose the screwing of a ton of carriers.

I just finished watching this whole testimony - I’m not sure DeJoy understands how awful the carrier situation is.

He talks a lot about his distribution facilities and staffing - casually mentions difficult hiring for delivery end. But doesn’t seem to grasp that people are still leaving. Seems like he thinks it’s leveling. It seems to be getting worse around here…I don’t know about where the rest of you are.

I liked some of what he focused on when first taking charge...shaking up management, the plants, and transportation.

Had the general impression that he understood that admin, processing nodes, and logistics were the enablers needed to help those that deliver to succeed. Support and take care of the grunts as it were.

Maybe he didn't perceive us that way after all. I'm thinking eventually the PRC held him down, while Tulino and others stuck him with a kool-aid IV.

I've brought up the advertising for YEARS. Since Lance Armstrong.

I always wondered who in the hell doesn't know who the USPS is and what it does? Why do you need to advertise?

2015 Contract had expected RRECS would be implemented before contract end. It had a provision for a 2018 Count if RRECS wasn't implemented.

The 2018 contract was signed in 2019, immediately following the failure to deliver on RRECS Implementation. It included NO MAIL COUNTS as RRECS was definitely, for sure, gonna happen this time. However, they had a provision for an interim method in case RRECS wasn't implemented......that the USPS/NRLCA never followed through on. So no RRECS AND no counts.

I have an idea. Who wants to loan him their route to deliver for a week? Amazon heavy route would be preferable. And lots and lots of back road miles too. I only have 55 miles with moderate parcels compared to some others, so mine’s not good enough. Let him experience our life for a week. Walk in our shoes. What is that tv show where executives want to know what it’s like down in the trenches? Undercover Boss isn’t it? Doubt he’d last 2 days! 🤣

I liked the part where they adjusted some time standards and worked with the union with these. This should make anyone's blood boil, just the fact we have been hearing this a few times but for him to come right out and state for proof and not hearsay is mind boggling. So your union had a hand 100% in your time standards what adjustments did they agree upon?

I can see it happening like this.

USPS: We have came up with new time standards. Packages are worth crap ton.

Union: DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not the first time we've heard this.
It has already been admitted to by the NRLCA and the USPS.

You know by now who Corey Walton is. On one of his podcasts he made the comment that the high administration knows that local postal management is a big problem with contractual violations.

Do you understand that the only way for high administration to fix this is for carriers to grow a set of balls and file grievances until they run out of paper? All change is local and I would submit that the rural craft let itself down because all they could see is the next day they call in sick. Natural law says you have to work hard for what you get, rurals are stuck on the beach, crying for someone else to do the work for them.

I've been suggesting our people listen to Corey for months now. Damn, I wish I worked in his office. His podcast is city carrier specific...but a good amount of the stuff he talks about is basic stuff that would still apply to us...I highly suggest giving this a listen.

I find him hard to listen to but I held my nose and did it anyway. Listening to all of it would give you a good idea what his plans are for the future but specifically regarding to our lovely evaluation system and the pay cuts it brought, start listening at 1:38:00 and pay close attention to what he says at an 1:42:15. Truthful statement? The congresswoman's points about people not being informed are a bit of a stretch I would think but I belive she's the only one of the day who brought up pay cuts.
WATCH LIVE: Postmaster General DeJoy testifies before House Oversight Committee

He wouldn’t last 1 day on my “easy 91.6 mile route”……

How can you not pull for Liberty softball ? About to knock out #2(52-6) UCLA. Done it!!! The problem with these mercenary CEO’s(Dejoy) is they never take ownership like the USPS was their baby…i.e.,their company that they built from the ground up. I loved it when that SC congressman grilled him on why some of his constituents couldn’t get service in a new development. PMG said yeah some of the ways the USPS operates is “ludicrous”. Can you imagine back in the day Fred Smith answering in this way ? No, any real leader concerned with his company’s reputation would have remedied that situation immediately !
