These people have to be joking right?

You need ordained to get on the Board.

  1. The common argument against opponents is that the opponent is not experienced (while "experience" is funneled to the hand-picked).
  2. Board groupies will campaign for table scraps and keep that boot licked clean.
  3. Some delegates view it as a social offense to run against a seated member, and will vote against the challengers for spite, even if they don't want the one who is currently seated.
Majority factionalism is one of democracy's greatest weaknesses, especially when it is presented as though its participants sincerely exercise independent thought.

I figure we're 2 contracts from going belly up... 3 if we're lucky. If the delegates voting patterns continue, my money is on Pitts signing the final NRLCA contract after he's been elected president for a year or two following Maston's retirement.
100% concur.

Seems like a simple problem to solve to me. There is more of us let the revolution start here and now. Since delegates are already chosen this year let them know that if ANY sitting member is reelected they are persona non grata they will never again sip from union paid bottles. Then follow through on that promise encourage all new delegates candidates and groupies for next year start grooming them now.
I agree. Logically, it's a simple fix.

Unfortunately, "groupthink" isn't logical. You're dealing with a mostly emotionally motivated group.

There are states whose "all-star" popular delegates will threaten others reputations for speaking out against the status quo. That whole "if you X, then you'll never be a delegate again!" bunch of nonsense. Many of them just loooooooooove titles because all of that "thinkin' work" becomes someone else's responsibility.

If you go to a National Convention, you'll see some of them doe-eyed and starstruck if they just see a Board Member walk by. 🤢 🤮

Additionally, for many of them, truth and falsity are crafted by the Board's imagination. Certain delegates are sooooo convinced by the Board's righteousness, that a National Officer's "nuh-uh!" is enough to dispel any dissent. A "nuh-uh!" uttered could have gotten O.J. off the hook!

First-timers all get the ego stroke out the gate. "We see great things for you" blah blah blah. "Future National Board material" is another knee slapper.

People are scared and many of them don't know how to handle certain bullies that pose as the union’s "angels of light."

That and most of the carrier's don't care what happens unless it hurts their pocketbook, provided they don't forget their damages endured by simply seeing a squirrel scurry up a tree. 😪 Just take a look at the ratification ballot tally. 🤷‍♂️

Omg… hit this one out of ballpark. Why delegates feel so belittled by national officers has always amazed me. Union members pay their salaries. They work for you. Stop goading their egos by making them think otherwise

Well this is discouraging.... what is the point in trying to become active if you've basically stated there is no way to?

That's funny. Ronnie is committed to serve ALL rural carriers nationwide. You did one heck of a job with rrecs Ronnie. I think it should say that he is committed to screw all rural carriers nationwide.

Matson…. Please tell me something he has done since he’s been on board? NOTHING except wait his turn and believe he is ENTITLED to president position now!! Um….h$!! No. Just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean they aren’t capable. Heck… I don’t like you, but sometimes you do present reasonable facts 😂😈🤣
He was at our state convention. Pompous prick is what I’m told. Comes right out and says he’ll never deliver mail again and that he’ll be president next. But don’t worry he takes different routes across the country apparently so one RCA isn’t holding down forever. What a guy.

I mean I guess I respect their complete lack of Shame and awareness. But really they shouldn't even be allowed in the convention much less a candidate 😂 on another note @Bill Mea or any of the other candidates running are you on here? Are you willing to sit down here on the forum and answer some real questions from real members?

Put your money where your mouth is: Run. Keyboard warriors always have a lot to say behind the screen. Look forward to hearing your speech.

If these idiots are still in charge when I am able to run I will likely do so, but right now I have much bigger battles im fighting. Keyboard warriors don't typically use their real name either 🤷 also not really sure what you consider a keyboard warrior. Would I say the same thing to their face if I ever saw them heck yes I would and very loudly and with more flair then is as allowed on here. You can point out someone is incompetent without having to take the job yourself for that matter you can point out incompetency if you yourself would not be competent to do the job. I might not be able to fly the airplane myself but if we are in a nose dive I can certainly point out the guy in the cockpit may need to be replaced.

Hey we may get an answer to our question about consequences of a board member on social media. Edited after more research I guess auxillary board members must not have the same social media policy. Makes it easy to get propaganda out their without actually being tied back to the board. Pretty smart actually.

It’s always I can’t actually run but I’ll complain all day about the ones that want to take the job on.

Union people love blaming everything on the people that are not in the union or are not leaders in the union. It's pretty hilarious how your ilk will blame other people for your own incompetence.
"Those who can't do, teach" or in the case of the union, lead.

This is just too petty cliche to be calling someone out about. To what real purpose? Vicarious victimhood on behalf of the feckless top feeders?

Where did I blame anyone? I’m literally stating that anyone that thinks that they can do better should run. You only have to be a dues member in good standing. Learn to read.
