What are all these 48k routes that claim to get done in 4.5-5 hours a day?

Carrierguy is the rarity... sometimes a supe, a jealous one, comes on here and remembers the 3 tuesdays last summer that the carrier was done at 1:00 and rattles everybody's chain
Not rare in my office. Some office don’t police the RRECS data scans or have just started looking at what is “flagging”.
Some people have cheated their way to it & mgmt doesn’t catch it nor can they correct it once it’s done.
Adjusting RRECS scans is coming soon & I expect that some mgmt will abuse their position in this program.

There needs to be a “pin” number that we carriers can enter to verify on Mapping & on RRECS data adjustments.

If the union allows management to adjust RRECS scans, even a little, without fighting to stop it before it happens, then the evaluated system is done. Our pay will no longer be based on what we do, but what management allows. We’ll be fighting every day, filing every day, losing every day.
We already can’t see absolutely everything related to RRECS. What makes us think we’ll see the edits they do behind our backs?

My thoughts anyway.

Yep....its coming....and its gonna be BAD.

I thought Rrecs would reduce routes being, what I consider, overpaid (fluffed up) . I guess not. We have a route here that is 48K (61 hrs) and the carrier is done around 3pm daily. Other 48k (67hrs) has 12 hr days on average. What in the world?

Even if the methods are accurate, and I don't believe RRECs is, there's always a way to cheat, and always people willing to do so.

I read about it all the time on Reddit, rural carriers with 48k routes who claim to only work 4.5-5 hours a day and how much they love their job.

Wondering how that is even possible unless you have non-existent parcel volume or very little mail. My 25 mile 800 mailbox 46K route that's inundated with Amazon everyday takes 4.5 hours just to deliver, not even counting casing, pulling down and loading the vehicle. Am I missing something here?
I have a 40K, 40 miles, 640 boxes, no CBUs, only a few businesses, and no Amazon. I am at or over my eval maybe 15 or 20 times a year. But done in 4.5 hours? Maybe 5 or 6 times in the last 19 years. I try to be efficient but I'm not that fast, contrary to another rural carrier's claims. 😅

Well before the new system my route was a 42H.

Now it is a 48k. I don't get done in 5 hours but between 6-7 is common. I work around 42-44 hours if I work 6 days or 37-38 if I work 5.

~550 deliveries over 19mi. Generally 150-200 packages daily.

My route has taken the same amount of time since I started doing it just under RRECS I get paid way more.

1/2 the routes are "city" routes. Imagine 6 apartment buildings with a built in parcel drop-off room.
That’s what most of my apartments are going to be. After first 5 are built the net ones will have electronic parcel locker 😩.

I'm 48k, extremely heavy amazon, I am happy if I get done under 10hrs. I don't take breaks and I hustle. My route is overburdened. I have officially asked and filed for a route cut, but I was told "You should be grateful there are some routes evaluated at 90 hours a week" ok, but are they actually pulling 90 hours a week?
Yes, one of my residences is located on one. 93 hours
It's all parcels. My house gets an average of 8-10 scans a day with everyone shipping to my house because of theft.

Our new carrier used to hate us. How things have changed 🤣 they drive to the house daily now, no more 3849s

165 miles, 170 if it rains. 220 boxes, RRECS moved me from 46k to 43j. I suppose the scanners made it possible for me to drive faster on the 100 miles of gravel roads. When these carriers are finishing way below rated times, are they turning off the engine while delivering a package, and securing the vehicle? Are they carrying their satchel when they deliver?
No, your probably just losing data from GPS. And you may have lost time in driving.

Basically the union represents rural routes and suburban routes. More routes are suburban routes, less are rural routes; thus the RRECS agreed to, are going to reward the suburban routes and punish the rural routes.

I'm a 45k , Missed being a 46 by 7 minutes last count . Filled out a dispute because we were only given 5 minutes for a safety talk . I asked the PM , he said he sent it where ever it's suppose to go , 😆. Now we are having another count , 🤔 I asked my supervisor, what is going on , she looks on her computer, it says ur a 46 k . Finally !!! But I've added a mile a day a box and a cbu with 26 customers. Dismount distance 110 a day .
I think the dispute crap is a joke !!!

I had one it was a 44 the beginning of last year and for some magical reason got bumped to a 48k. The mail count before the February mail count put it at a 48 and I told my postmaster this has to be an error. Then I heard all 8 routes in my office got bumped to a 48. Then conspiracy theory me starts thinking they bumped everybody to a 48 so they can cut them all down to 43s and when the mail count after that hits we would be looking at 40-42ks. Two weeks ago they did, everyone is a 43K now. We were swallowed up by a s&dc in February in a close town 4 miles away when we got there our mileage was correctly adjusted. But after the mail count they put us back to our original town mileage an never corrected, grievances now coming
