Expectations for New Contract

Havent the previous raises been 1% and change, of course its a backpay situation, for whatever reason. What makes you think annual raises will increase drastically I agree it’s a joke. Good luck with whatever the result is 🍀🍺!
Highest inflation in last 3 years since at least the last 80 years. After ww2 inflation was high. Could be highest in over 100 years.
The standard 1.3% raise per year won’t cut it this time. I would absolutely vote No.

Never underestimate the fear of your fellow rural craft members when the possibility of arbitration gets tossed around. We always get told this is the best they could do and close with arbitration will be next if not ratified. History of arbitration is not kind to us on the rural side. I am glad you are hopeful in This regard. I am as well, but I also see reality of the past.

Expectations:

What I want to see

Big raise, elimination of table 2, and career path for RCA (2 years and if they work xxxx hours in a year)
Mail counts reduce to 1 year or every 2 years (I mean my number have been so similar in all 4 counts) plus or minus about 3 mins each count

What I expect

2 years working without contract
4% raise over 3 years
Management can change any numbers of RRECS
Mail counts all the time still

Get the vasoline and enjoy the show

Because some dumb ass took our power away with the no strike clause
@Big ben - i would think you would get by now why most of your posts get deleted (hint: language. read.the.forum.guidelines. she sez for the hundredth time)

but this one i'm letting go simply so i can respond.

those dumb butts are called congress critters.

When the next contract between the NRLCA and USPS is finally ratified what final changes do you expect to see? Improved salaries, benefits, rights, or working conditions?

Just curious since I recently watched a Rural Academy instructor making wild and baseless claims to new RCAs about what the new contract would guarantee so they would join the union.

Given that Rural contracts have lagged behind other postal union contracts and competitive shipping unions until this point I wondered if people believe they will step up and score big for their members this time around. Satirical responses welcomed as well.
We will get in the rear again buy truck loads of vasoline, the union is selling us out we should be able to monitor their bank accounts like the mail is durring count oops that does not happen

$72,815= Our 40k top
$35 per hour

And we perform "faster and smarter" at that wage.

Wonder if this will happen

Postal math.....🤦‍♀️
National under time is 6 hours per week
6×52=312hours per year
2080-312=1768 hours

72,815 ÷ 1768= $41.18 per hour

41.18 x .04 = 1.65.
41.18 + 1.65 = 42.83

$75,724 = 4% raise The new top tier🤷‍♀️

I agree with you that the raises are not adequate due to inflation ! The PO will offer the usual crappy annual increases, unfortunately !

You would think in an election year USPS wouldn't let multiple contracts expire. The word we hear is they will extend contract negotiations... What else can they do? Oh yeah, strike like a REAL union and hold Dejoy's feet to the flames as Election Day approaches to ensure a positive outcome for ALL crafts. The stakes have never been higher than they are now with the nation increasingly dependent on mail-in ballots. We deliver for America and America needs to deliver for us.

Arbitration got us RRECS…so it’s not always doom & gloom.

All -- The APWU began contract negotiations on 25 JUN 24 and seem to have a reasonable list of goals:

- protect job security
- good wage increases and COLA
- end two-tier pay scales ( hopefully not resulting in everyone on Table TWO )
- all career workforce
- safe jobs

-- The NALC has been negotiating for over a year ( not a good sign )

-- The NPMHU had a convention and actually posted daily happenings. They begin negotiations in 2025 and actually asked for bargaining proposals from its MEMBERSHIP to be submitted by 25 JAN 25. ( what a concept! )

-- Interesting to have 3 of 4 postal unions operating without a current contract. Wonder how the NPMHU got out of sync with the NALC. It used to be the APWU and NRLCA in the same year and the NALC and NPMHU in the following year.
