Expectations for New Contract

This job went to $#!+ :poop: on steroids when they decided they needed to GPS the scammers..... anybody remember when we had to pair the scammers with the little flippy phones.... that's where it all went into overdrive.... now they got all this stuff integrated in to Gov vehicles, and done by the scammers to some extent for POVs....🤷‍♂️👉(n)💩
I am surprised that I didnt lose the pos, flip phone 😎 !

Expectations:

What I want to see

Big raise, elimination of table 2, and career path for RCA (2 years and if they work xxxx hours in a year)
Mail counts reduce to 1 year or every 2 years (I mean my number have been so similar in all 4 counts) plus or minus about 3 mins each count

What I expect

2 years working without contract
4% raise over 3 years
Management can change any numbers of RRECS
Mail counts all the time still

Get the vasoline and enjoy the show
Agree with everything. And, maybe, an RCA to ptf after two years to increase formula for mgmts benefit.

yes it is but, privitizing the post office is harder then that first they have to get it out of the constitution,
if there is one thing politicians from both parties can come together and do, it’s violate the constitution or override it all together with some new national security rule. Don’t expect that to save anyone when there’s billions to be made, and funneled off.

We'll just have to wait and see what the NALC gets.

We typically lag a cycle or two behind them on general perks; but if they get a hefty raise, I'd at least expect the same. Parity with UPS would be fantastic.

I would not expect the immediate abolition of the two pay tables, in addition to increased wages. The back pay for T2ers going to a unified pay Table would be a non starter for the USPS, and I see the diminution of Table 1 to be a non starter for the NRLCA.

I could see some sort of modified RCA conversion schedule in larger offices, resulting in faster formula conversions.

Apart from that, I'd expect the union to backslide on some things. I could see them going as far as higher FERS contribution percentages for future hires, stuff along the lines of rob Peter to pay Paul shenanigans.

I expect the same standard boilerplate contract as the last two.

I expect that they will correct none of the many issues that have cropped up over those last two contracts (backpay time penalties, overburdened routes/topping out at 48, things that are newer than the rrecs studies that we can't get paid for, that window between evaluation and 12 hours where the regular just gets to work for free, etc).

I expect that they will give up the regulars ability to say NO to helping out other routes, and the days of 'finish your route and go home' will be gone.

Remember, these are the brilliant negotiators that fully removed all references to mail counts BEFORE rrecs had even started collecting data and USPS could have pushed it back for another ten years.

I expect them to call it a 'historic' contract and fearmonger about arbitration, because they always do.

I think it was somewhere around 2016 or so.... when they first started integrating some of the initial RRECS "time study" stuff.... then we got the next Gen of scammers (the Blue bricks) that had GPS, and then the little flippy phones went away.... it was less than year that we used them.... just another wasteful USPS thing.... 🤷‍♂️👉(n)💩
We got them in our area about 2013

Our office did it somewhere around 2012. Lasted most of a year. Real pain.

Also had an RCA that scanned everything delivered before leaving. Later if customer called looking for a package next day, they’d call her, she’d say it must have fell under the seat of her truck. She’d bring it in following day. Turns out she was stealing them, and hiding trays of mail at home. Crazy.
They most likely made her postmaster for that

Billions they will sell out their mom for a penny

It looks like the Nalc is getting a 20% raise over three years. Are you all going to cynically complain if we get the same?
Is 20% not enough, asking seriously? I think it’s barely adequate but not spectacular.

I think considering how far we have fallen behind with our 4-5% raises over the life of our previous contracts 20% over 3 years is not enough. It should be closer to 30%.

All raises mean nothing when inflation and COL won’t stop going up, and your evaluation can plummet for factors beyond your control.

They are still in Arbitration, where did you get that information?

What is the current contract of the NALC?

Under the 2019-2023 National Agreement, all letter carriers will receive a 5% increase in their uniform allowance in 2021 and a 2.5% annual increase in 2022.

How long has NALC been without a contract?

City letter carriers have been working without a contract for more than 400 days, and leaders of the Letter Carriers (NALC) still refuse to provide any substantive updates from bargaining.
