So, you're saying the regulars can complete their routes and be back in the office by 11 am???No Pov routes in the office
some offices are down llvs/va . Can they have subs come in later at 11AM
so the regulars can use the trucks first? It’s what’s going on.
i’m not sure, i don’t work in that office. I was just curious if that’s what they can do. They have been for 6+ months thoCan't definitively answer about pushing subs time back, but what is the plan if there is one to check those affected route's hamper(s) for parcel miss throws? What a mess in the making.
by the time they come in and case their route it’s usually 1ish and someone is coming back. I was just curious it’s what’s going on in the next post office to us… not really mine office. So, you're saying the regulars can complete their routes and be back in the office by 11 am???

Something isn't right if a carrier is paid for 8 hours and can finish consistently in 3 hours. That's not being "fast" that's clearly something else. Evaluated with mail and parcels and now most has gone away, Amazon shift, etc.In some offices they sure do![]()
Sorry I thought this was YOUR office.....by the time they come in and case their route it’s usually 1ish and someone is coming back. I was just curious it’s what’s going on in the next post office to us… not really mine office.
Did you already forget how some carriers were crying when the decision of route cut for overburdened route came down this time around? Their claim was that they don’t need to be cut as they finish their overburdened route by 11 or 12Something isn't right if a carrier is paid for 8 hours and can finish consistently in 3 hours. I'm sure curious how many are working at half evaluated times. Out of our hundreds of carriers I know of none who can do this even close to consistently.
I must be some kinda stupid.
I know of one specifically who I obv will not name. This particularly gifted Rural Carrier would usually complete their 8+ hour route in 3-4, - maybe 4.5 hours on the rough days. Given the volum this route was imo evaluated TOO LOW!Something isn't right if a carrier is paid for 8 hours and can finish consistently in 3 hours. Quite a few carriers I know do not use parcel markers or flags . In my 21 years , I used parcel markers maybe for grand total of 1st 6 weeks . But I was never able to do 8+ hr route in 3–4 hrs . Maybe once in a blue moon in 5 hrs . Rarely . Presently doing 8.8 hr route in 7 hrs average. That carrier sure sounds like gifted . I remember in pre DPS days , the office time used to be usually twice the amount of street time . If I could have cased the way you described maybe could have done in 4–5 hrs in those pre DPS days . Then again maybe I would have developed Carpal syndrome by nowI know of one specifically who I obv will not name. All mail was cased (quickly I will add) - flats first "rolled" like a U. Then, with some sort of technique that you'd witness from a dealer at a card table. Left Hand flat, fingers together, palm up... the DPS fanned out, held up real close to the current cell - the right hand thumb sifting/sliding letters into the cells. <<< I tried this and can't seem to make it work. Raw letters tossed in at the end.
Typical Criss Cross into long Hard tray pull down - same as City carrier method.
No parcel markers or flags - Smalls in order and the large simply rolled out and loaded into the LLV.
As a curious RCA, I asked one day how they did it. the reply I got was "It's all about memory".
I think this particular carrier was gifted enough that large parcels were just committed to memory, and mail was shotgunned - prob never day dreams or has weak moments like us normal people... so never really slows down out there.
Was at 66 cut to 43 lost Amazon now getting done at 1230, coworker who is a runner and gives no….getting done by 11ish scared to see how far the routes will fall.Something isn't right if a carrier is paid for 8 hours and can finish consistently in 3 hours.
