pm is in a mood again. Tried to change my vacation last minute memorial day weekend. Got it straightened out with the help of the ADR. Now I put in for another vacation on friday afternoon. i work in an rmpo, so earliest pm got the request was 4 pm. by 8 am monday morning, request denied. reason-no subs available. There are no subs in the office. however, 2 weeks ago a rca from another office trained on a couple routes. I have a gut feeling, pm never even tried to find a rca. Im trying to figure out how to manage this situation. Thank god pm is retiring this fall.

Contact the sub yourself and ask if they were available. I've set up my own sub many times to make sure I'm approved if I really need the time off.

Yes, but if it past 60-day from request, you’ll need to provide your itinerary as proof.
Forgive me, I just want to clarify because I never used Elra. Am I just suppose to do it within 60 days of my trip? For example, today is August the 2nd and if my trip was on September 2nd I can just put in the time on elra and get it auto-approved? But I would need the itinerary if my vacation is on December 2nd and I'm putting in for it today? Is that correct?

correct.

but i wouldn't just volunteer it. make them ask. :devilish:

I stopped asking subs , they give excuses on why they can't work . Not my job , it's the supervisors job . I tried it in the past , learned my lesson ......
You see what happens if you rely on the supervisor. You don't get leave. It may be their job to find a leave replacement but your the one that needs leave. Doesn't hurt to try.
