Load leveling is gone. If the mail is there, it goes out.
The PO profits from NOT “load leveling” in RRECS as it keeps Rural Carriers from having consistency in “coverage” for our evaluations.
The Union has nothing to do with the mail flow.I agree with that, but why did our union think this is ok...... They couldn't think ahead and figure out what would happen. I just don't get it. What good is our union doing when we are the only one getting pay cut for delivering supposedly less mail yet the city side route aren't getting adjusted at all. I mean I taken 4 hours in 2 years and since I moved to current office, city routes haven't even been touched.....
The Union has nothing to do with the mail flow.
RRECS was not an agreement but was forced upon both parties in Arbitration. The Engineers came up with Coverage Factor not the PO or Union. It wasn’t something that the Union could get thrown out since we don’t deliver mail to every single box every single day & the Engineers saw that.
It's in the contract about steady and even flow of mail....
What I AM SAYING IS THIS. If my pay is based on the coverage and mail I get each day, why is our union ok with us not getting stuff but once a week then rest of the week is garbage. I have ZERO issue with coverage factor being part of RRECS. The only issue I have is that coverage should be 100% because I still have to drive by boxes and some of them slow down to get outgoing mail. So example, if coverage is 88%, you could the other 12% at lesser rate (That is the only part of coverage factor I disagree with it). My issue is watching my so called coverage just tanking in 2 years. You would think that since it is part of our pay, that the union would be wanting more steady flow of mail instead of this BS of dump it all in 1 day and destroy the coverage. I mean in last 2 years, I have almost 2 hours ALONE because of coverage factor. 13% curb and 21% CBU.
The flow of mail is getting worse and worse each day. It is to the point in my office, I literally could not work Tuesday and Thursday and I wouldn't even notice the difference.
Our offices routes have had this and far more every day for the past two weeks.....typically one of the presorts is close to full coverage, in addition to our coverages for the day.Wonder when union will address this BS???View attachment 15685

That's nearly 5 and half ft of presort in 1 day. How is this allowed??? Oh and good chunk of stuff said deliver by 10/12 to 10/18.
allow me to sum this up for everyone!! usps how about we deliver the mail everyday? union ohh okay , no foresight what so ever or consideration that the usps would use it against us. daaaa, usps how about having a 6 month evaluation based on a years worth of work, with no transparacy what so ever? ohh okay. now here comes amazon and now ups. union daaaaa. they cannot see the forest through the trees. asleep at the wheel. simply put its rigged, evil, and the usps are scumbags.
and that is why rurals shoot themselves in the foot.Well, we are all likely still keeping our hours down.
We dont create any additional OT, we have higher hourly rates because we are getting volumes done in less time, and we get it all done with fewer employees.
We are not showing we need or deserve more. daaaa
Why wouldnt they pile on more?
Oh, their's is coming...in my 35 years, I've only seen it 3x...and it's been a while now....I agree with that, but why did our union think this is ok......
Add to the fact that none of them want to go back to delivering their routes againYep that's my issue. They have tunnel vision. Just can't see anything that isn't straight in front of them.
I remember when I first started almost 10 years ago as RCA that presort showed up every single day. It was more much of an even flow of mail. Nowadays it is just 3 or 4 days of leftovers, 1 heavy !@#%ing day, 1 average day.
As I told others, heavy days are heavier and light days are lighter. Hard to even grasp what a route can be especially like mine when I work 10 hours then work 5 hours for 3 days then 1 7 hour day.
