Didn't DeJoy have a big speech before he left claiming in the save post office act or whatever it was called saying we will be delivering 6 days a week for next 250 years

If they wont raise the price of a stamp to 95 cents they absolutely will not go to 5 day delivery...fighting about the same old thing..but did not mention or ask why we paid millions on grievances just because the districts, management continue to ignore crafts contracts or the 1/2 million on sponsorship, just kinda skipped over those little issues!

Not sure about Dejoys speech. In 2013 the PO announced it was transitioning to 5 day regular delivery. Well, the transition never happened, wonder how much waa wasted on that plan .

Mgt just has to get the mail out of the building, contract does not matter. Grievance payout is part of the labor costs .

Didn't hear them address that issue about it being included in labor cost just heard him say that the po had unnecessary overtime...I wish some of the panel would of asked pmg about the grievance pay out as an issue by itself and the explanation pmg would of giving

That was a joke about grievance payouts being
part of labor costs.

Before I retired, I often looked at the smaller and smaller piles of mail, and wondered if that really covered the costs of delivering the route .. especially on days where they were paying DACA 5's, EMA, etc., etc...

I have a feeling it might happen this time . Government is running out of money too — reason behind it too many things to discuss . Just one big one . About 50 billion already spent on ongoing war . Now they are talking about 200 billion more . And Congress will approve that too . And mark my word they will come back for more in 4/5 months. And they might give that too . Post office is no priority at all . Decline will continue here onwards . Situation is dire . I am pretty depressed

They brought up grievances as a matter of why congress can't trust USPS to meet targets, but PMG dodged it.

I get the feeling they wouldn't care about running out of money, that money isn't backed by Gold, but those missiles, tanks, and planes make good billion dollar points as to why that money would keep being useful!

The Postmaster General tells congress that we might have to cut down delivery days to help with USPS finances.

Did he recommend cutting management or the bureaucratic nightmare we all deal with everyday? No.

Did he get a verbal 2x4 from a congressman over a failed postal shipping program that's cost 1.5 billion according to the OIG? Yes he did. And Steiner said he'll look into it and get back to them in 30 days.

This will not be fixed. It's a nightmare scenario where the workers who actually deliver the mail and are invested in it are held in job limbo status because the people at the top want it to fail. They don't care. They don't propose cutting on top, just the bottom dwellers.

Our marketing CEO oversees over 3000 employees to watch our volume dwindle and packages taken over by gig workers.

How's that bidding auction going to increase parcel volume? Mines dropped drastically and when I go to work tomorrow I better have tread on my shoe or i'll get sent home.

It's crazy how USPS management has been trotting out these same, tired ideas (raise the price of a first class stamp, five day delivery) for twenty years now. Raising the price on a product (first class mail) that does not sell (no one sends cards letters anymore!) doesn't increase revenue, and any cursory examination of five day delivery shows that it will INCREASE costs (through increased OT), not decrease them.

It's infuriating that USPS management continues to provide sweetheart pricing to marketing mail and packages. Anyone sell on eBay? My husband has been selling off pieces of his hobby collection and eBay sellers receive an enormous discount (33% I think?) on shipping. Why would USPS give this discount? My husband's only option for shipping is the USPS. Sending his items through any other service would be crazy expensive. He has no choice where he buys shipping, and yet the USPS hands him (and everyone else on eBay) this steep discount for no reason OTHER THAN TO SUBSIDIZE EBAY.

I know I don't have to go into the Amazon, because we all know Jeff Bezos has made his billions on the backs the American workers while our tax dollars have gone to subsidize every single one of his business ventures.

RAISE THE PRICES ON PACKAGE DELIVERY. Make these companies pay the fair market rate for the service. It really is that simple.

RRECS stole a LOT of $$$$ money from rural carriers, but to what end????? Gave more work to mngt geeks and USPS lost even more $$$$ BILLIONS after RRECS implementation... everything USPS does is a big $$$$ money loser, and that's why they're in the situation they're in... broke and going broker...
