Current retirement system status

Has anyone retired recently? How did it go?

I filed an application to retire with the new ORA system in April, and it has not been too responsive. It reached the place where it says I will work with HR to confirm my work history. Then nothing; and there is an error in their records about my work history, which I wish to correct.
For inquiries about the status of my application, the webpage refers me to contact HR.
So I called HR, and they said it should not be telling me this, and referred me back to the ORA.

My concern is this: the time is approaching, and I have heard nothing. I want to retire at the end of next month(July), but when can I expect to hear something back from either the ORA or HR?

My wife retired from another government agency in 2025. With Trump and Musk forcing government employees out there was a massive load of retirements. My wife submitted retirement paperwork in April 2025. By August there was no movement in the process and she was required to resubmit the paperwork through the online portal. So that was done in Aug 2025. She started receiving temporary payments in february '26. Her retirement was finally finalized on July 1 2026... over 1 year after starting the process.

She is on a facebook page and in contact with other employees that were all going through the same thing. Many are still waiting.
