apartments in random dps order. can this be fixed in edit book?

they are in the correct order in the edit book but in the dps they are completely random. I've had apartments on other routes that come in order so i know it's possible but i'm not sure why they are not coming in order on this route. I don't see anything different in the edit book unless i am missing something.

I do notice they are in sections. For example if there are 2 cbus in one stop. The first cbu is apts 1-15 and the second cbu is apts 16-30. The dps will be random for 1-15 then random for 16-30. I won't have a dps letter for apt. 20 in the mix of apartments fof 1-15. Again, everything is in correct order in the edit book. Each apt is assigned it's own cell.

Are you receiving any high rise mail for this address ? That would be mail for the STREET address but with no apartment number. That mail would be at the very beginning of the rest of the mail for that street address.

I have a trailer park where all the trailers have the same street address but different trailer #s. All the trailer #s are in correct order in the edit book and all the letters come with the space numbers but they still come in random order. spc 5, 3, 5, 7, 2, 6, 2, 3, 1, 4, 6, etc. Same thing for a small apt. complex I have. I've had apartments before on other routes and the letters that don't have a unit # would all be at the front or end of the dps section for that address. But these are all letters that include the unit #s yet they are completely randomized. It's like those sections with apartments/trailers come as raw mail in the dps.

Okay. I'm not at all that well versed in AMS let alone the detailed specifics. But, something is definitely up with this mess. First off, those trailer park numbers and apartment numbers that are out of sequence would be raw letters in addition to the high rise mail during the MMS even if / when you delivered them. That mail is supposed to be in order. I've attached an AMS "cheat sheet". Way over to the right, you'll see two columns. One for " hi def" and one for "hi exa" . Give those columns a look in your edit book. You'll probably need to speak with the AMS Tech. in your District to straighten it out. Granted, the regular default high rise ( mail with no apt. , unit, lot, suite, etc. numbers ) will still come at the front by street default address but that other mail WITH the appropriate numbers should be in order.

If it's correct in your edit book, request a DPS review.

I had this problem several years ago. Edit book was correct, but it took the DPS review to get the plant to update it in their computer system.

Plus, it's fun to watch management run around in a panic when you make that request.

Bug your management everyday. Especially if they like to tell the office to do things correctly.

I had new growth and it was taking well over 7 months for the DPS to come in correctly.

The way they actually believed me was when I counted them all as missorted during the MMS.
