Things were going well. Had a sub, days off, everything fine. But then a fellow carrier had trouble with his disability retirement. Been off work over a year and a half now, still not retired. Sub on hold down got tired of waiting for full time. Transfers to a nearby office with a full time opening. Cant blame him. Other rca doesnt have a pov, and has resisted getting one, as three of four routes in office are gov vehicle routes. Borrowed the carriers pov when he had to run that route. So now more pov to borrow. So now im working six days a week, no subs anywhere im told. Rca on pov route is using metris from the aux route to deliver the pov route, and the aux route rca is using his pov. My metris started loosing a quart of coolant every 500 miles, and had an engine light for a miss on cylinder 2. So it goes to VMF. VMF brings me an llv for a 90 mile route with 40 miles of gravel roads in august in iowa. So the entire chain of events has me working six days a week in an llv. It wasnt hot today, about 80 degrees, so it wasnt bad, except i was covered in dust and coughing like i smoked a pack a day. I attempted to talk to the pm about the rca on the pov route using the llv, as I think he should either buy a vehicle-its an h route 100 miles long-or have to use the llv if he refuses to buy a vehicle. That didnt go well. At least its supposed to rain tomorrow, so i shouldnt be covered in gravel dust at the end of the day. Thank you for listening to my minor rant for the day.

I'd love to be in your office. I'd give anything to use my POV again. Sorry you are frustrated and rightly so.
He filmed in a radioactive area once and about 50% of cast and crew ended up with cancer.

Drive the LLV like you stole it.
Within two weeks it will break down.
Do that enough times and they will prioritize your route with something that makes sense.

ill run it out of fuel soon enough. one day, i went from full to quarter tank. I filled up, and the next day it went from full to half tank. At some point ill forget to fill it one day, the gauge will say full,, but ill run out of gas.

I've got a nearly 120 mile route and had to fill it daily.
The first day in a certain LLV it was showing nearly full about 40 miles in and I almost didn't get fuel. However, as it would be 120 miles back to the station the next day, I found out the crazy fuel gage stays nearly full for about 90-100 miles and drops like a rock.
What kills me the most is with the creaking and cracking and gravel road noise, I have to be risking hearing damage.
I plan on 8127 time for fueling. I only get paid to fuel three times a week.

If you want your Metris back, explain in writing that the LLV can not handle to long drive and or dusty gravel roads and you believe it is getting hot enough to start on fire. Then drive it for several miles (usually just before you get back to the office) holding your foot on the brake. This will overheat the front brakes causing the front wheel bearings to leak out all the grease onto the brake caliper/wheel and burn off causing smoke. Then just park it in your spot upon returning. There will be grease dripping out of those bearings all on the ground by your LLV. Write it up saying "Wheels smoking, I don’t believe this vehicle can handle the roads on my route". Your Metris will be back in a day or 2.
i was actually going to ask what i needed to file for work related injury. I have minor sciatica, but it gets worse from riding in vehicles with basically no suspension over rough gravel roads.

You probably could ask for an "Accommodation" dues to your sciatica. Have your Doctor requesta $1200 seat like the semi- truck drivers use. You may be, at least, issued a Metris, if that would help.
