I signed up for this although I made a vow I would not, figured I would watch from some speculations I have been hearing about, also wanted to watch when we went through mail count. I still get all my bills and everything else sent through the mail I believe in supporting our job and not online. I get mail from DPS on average of only twice a week, I will get anywhere from 3 to 5 pieces twice a week, so that means 4 days a week I get 0. Unfortunately, I signed up too late to really watch how long this has been going on to verify my conspiracy theory that many of us have going. Once upon a time not so long ago I used to get mail on a daily basis, it truly does show the decline in mail and possibly manipulating what days you will be getting mail.

Ton of us have been noticing this lately. Can't remember if there was thread for this or not because I remember commenting about this with my parents mail.

They always got mail every day besides the great once in a while. Now it is 2 days without and rest of the days they have it.

It is no surprise that Monday and Saturdays are my heaviest days (the days I have house to house).

I haven’t gotten any informed delivery notifications in the last 2 days hmm makes you wander and I have had informed delivery for almost two years and have always received notification of what mail being delivered each day till after the rrecs make you wander

My thoughts on informed delivery.

I do business with USPS. It's not like I have a choice of mail providers. I did not give them permission to take a photo of every piece of mail I get and store it on Amazon's cloud. I feel this is a violation of the 4th amendment.

It's also caused me lots of trouble with customers. They say I was supposed to get three letters and only got two.

If I would still be working, I would write this down to see if there is a pattern. Today I am getting 4 pieces of mail with 0 delivery the last 3 days. Get enough people might be able to prove the manipulating the flow of mail.

I had a customer tell me she didn't think she had mail when I stopped and handed it to her because she didn't get an email telling her she had mail. And my mother told me today she hasn't got mail in 3 days. ( I told her he probably quit) She had a magazine (late TV guide) and a bbm letter today.

Had a customer waiting at the box for a check. Naturally I had none such - he had the 'proof' pictured on his phone! His car shot out towards the PO in my rear view. PM said nary a word when I got back.

It’s very apparent to me as others have stated, it was rare to pass a mailbox before, and I have customers who would get SOME sort of DPS every single day, now they all show up at once, thankfully EDDM is there to save the day

Last fall I started seeing this pattern - customers who would almost always get mail every day, were now getting mail only a couple days a week. So many boxes were nothing for 2-3 days, then a handful, then nothing again.

A few weeks (maybe a couple months?) ago I noticed a new pattern. Any given day there would be DPS for 6-8 boxes in a row. Then 6-8 in a row with nothing. Then more mail, then more with nothing. Pattern repeated across most of the case. Hard to believe this could be entirely random.

Couldn't this just be due to the way they handle and process the mail. Not so much as a means to screw the rural carriers over in their rrrecs system as much as it is that they are diminishing the standards in delivery and trying to cut costs to raise profits. Perhaps instead of processing first class mail every day they changed the time frames given when it comes to processing. Two birds with one stone sorta thing. I dunno. Occam's razor and Hanlon's razor. It also seems like the time frames people are mentioning coincide with dejoys master plan to turn a profit. Anything is possible but my perspective sees it as larger institutional changes that are also impacting us more so than changes made to have a direct impact on us.

I get informed delivery emails everyday and it's like most things USPS, sometimes it works sometimes not so much.... when something like a gift card doesn't show up in my mailbox after being seen in the email, it makes me wonder if someone theived it from the mail.... it's right sometimes and wrong sometimes...

I just received my bank statement .........the 17th of the month...............it used to arrive NLT the 5th. That's a delay of two weeks ...............things are getting worse daily.

They don't want to send statements at all, and if they do, they want to charge the customer for doing so.... when making a phone payment, most don't want to send a paper receipt thru the mail, they usually say they will send it via email.... tax payments were one of the last holdouts, but most of those can now be paid online....

Every time businesses attempt that with me they loose my patronage or resume paper statement! If they refuse I inform them that all I have is a landline and no internet. But if the choose to fund me getting internet, a smartphone and wireless plan I would gladly allow them to bill me electronically. I figure it will cost them my patronage, a postage stamp or about $170 or more a month to supply me with the capabilities to receive their statements. The choice is theirs they usually continue mailing me the statement.
