I would take ffv or llv any day over PoV, understand it’s frustrating getting used to different vehicles. Just think of all the stress, worry, time, and money you save not managing a PoV.
If you have a pov you can always ask to be allowed to use it. Your manager would probably welcome that since he obviously has Gov vehicle problems.Metris was down for almost 5 weeks. Claimed they put a new engine in. Saturday the low coolant notification came on again. No leaks. After 2000 miles or less. I'm sure I'll be back in an llv again soon. 90 mile route, dirt roads. Great for the body...
i have a gov vehicle and ive had a sub for 2 of 7 years. Try riding around in a llv on gravel roads sometime. Its like using a jackhammer for 3 or 4 hours a day.THIS ^^^^^^^
You also have to look at the fact if you have GOV, how much people you can hire COMPARED TO POV.
People don't think about that. I am 4 years in as a regular and had a sub for GRAND TOTAL of 9-10 months.....
I don't have a pov. Another carrier does.but pm won't allow me to use his metris while he uses his pov. Says I have to use what's assigned to route. But when pov route calls in, metris is used on that route.I would definitely choose gov or pov any day. But after being in a metris the last couple years going back to llv might make me hang it up! I just don't think I can do another winter in an llv. But agree that pm should let you use your pov anytime gov is down and you should be paid properly for it!
