load vehicle and end of shift deems list

As soon as you head to the cart to start loading it, you start load. Don't hit end load until you're back in the office and cart has been placed where it started out.
That sounds like hitting start load, as in pulling down and putting the trays into the cart. to push out to the llv, I dont have enough room to do all my trays first so i load up my orange pumkin one tray at a time, then pull down some more etc etc.

Training, for me in a small 1 route office, was one sheet of paper with the big list of scans on it and what they are used for left on my case one day.
Any questions I had was answered by 'I don't know'. PM had training and he didn't understand it.
Was then told, many weeks after that I should have used my own personal time to learn how to use THEIR pay system. After being told for years that NEVER to give the PO any free time for anything. Go to union website, go to a seminar, call your rep.
Sure, it's my pay and money but it is their system. You paid me to learn how to do paperwork, case mail, use the 3M case, drive your vehicles and deliver mail and how to end my work day but you do not offer PAID training on YOUR scanner.
What other job gives you a vital piece of equipment with no training and just says here ya go, use it?
I used many of my personal hours talking to my rep asking questions that should have been given to us by our bosses in house on the clock.
But yet we get paid to watch videos on work place harassment and useless service talks.

manglements are calling people who got long load time and eos..

what bad things can they do to the carriers? carriers even under eval w/ long eos time.
Lots of people in my office start load time as soon as they touch a parcel and lots of times stay under load time while they sort spurs or pull down. Many are K routes just because of adding so much daily time to their eval. Managers don't seem to care. They also take shortcuts like not checking every piece of mail or not delivering junk mail to a good number of customers as they have asked each customer over the years if they want certain pieces of mail or not. Also, skipping mail boxes who are not getting a first class piece of mail that day and bringing it back instead. There is absolutely no accountable whatsoever at the Post Office, especially where it's needed more than anywhere else. It bugs me to death (but I shouldn't let it bother me) as integrity sits high on my list. Being honest has cost me my days off and money, but honesty and integrity is what makes me be able to sleep peacefully at night. I don't know how these colleagues can go home and feel good about the work they did that day. I would absolutely hate my job if I was that sloppy and dishonest.

When I move my packages in my POV from the rear up to the passenger section, I hit load vehicle. Yes it will beep after too long. This is what I have been doing for a long time because of Amazon.
You could get into trouble for that as the route is specifically credited time for 'reloading'.

42. Reload Allowance
The Reloading standards in RRECS are best illustrated by the Lookup Tables below which
simplify the standard by number of trays (determined from mail volumes) and bundling
system. Unloading time is now included in the EOS Duties and recorded as actual time
each day.
The number of trays in the table below is determined by the daily volume of letters,
flats, and small parcels. The number of “stored” trays in the chart below is determined
by the total number of mail trays and subtracting 3 because the assumption is 3 trays
will be loaded up front with the carrier. The total number of mail trays is determined by
the total volume of Random Mail trays plus Boxholders, plus DPS letter trays plus DPS
flats trays plus small parcel trays. The Panel determined that parcels delivered to the
mailbox or parcel locker could be further divided by small and medium. Small parcels
generally being those that are cased or lined up in a tray and medium parcels being too
large to fit in the case. Through their analysis, they determined that 21.74% of these
parcels should be classified as small and 78.26% as medium.

Theres more in the doc but this is just the first part.

This is all geared towards Government vehicles.

You might ask your supervisor or timekeeper to check your load times. I believe you can only record one, which would be the last one you inputted. Check your RWHT and see.

As with other RRECS documents, this is uh....baloney, to be polite. Yes, it's how things are calculated. But the assumptions are all that everyone works the same as city carriers, office casing identical to city and taking everything to the street, which is NOT what the 1000 routes in our offices and those very close by do. Most case in the office.

Hmmm, not sure about that. If I'm doing it wrong, I would love to fix it. We got no training.
you can file a grievance on your lack of training. it could affect your base hours in a positive manner. and, if be absolutely curious to see if mgmt signed you off on being trained and what day. I have received " training" on annual vacation. my goodness, was that a refreshing call with area!!!

I must say ...if I was an RCA on any of those routes- I would demand a fresh ubbm collection each day. I would not want to be tagged with a removal over someone else's shoddy
work practices.

Well that reload analysis in the RRECS guide is utter BS. Some of the times are based on assumptions and guesses. I do not have 3 trays of mail up front with me at all times nor do I get 21% small and 78% medium parcels. It's almost exactly opposite. Maybe 60% small and 40% medium. But it being counted as otherwise by the system. So am I losing money due to this?
I use 1 tray of mail and my parcels up front at all times and I reload sometimes 3 or 4 times on the route. Usually my small parcels take up the entire front tray with the 1 tray of mail. Some days it's hard to even see out the side window or side mirror. So i have to move things around so I can see.

Agree....but....does the system accommodate that? When I last checked, only one showed up and they didn't add. I'll do two Monday and check again to see if I get credit for both combined.
I load multiple trips in the am. My avg load time is longish compared to the smaller multiple loads I make.

Am a retired Area Steward. When I got the Work Hour Tracking sheets, they did in fact have multiple load times listed, some times as many as three to include mid route times.
