New RCA not being paid properly.

I have a solution (but will never be implemented by the USPS without some teeth from the union).
For every 5 hours that a postal employee is shorted on their pay (per pay period) the PM personally be required to carry that employee's route while the carrier performs the PM's duties. Eventually carriers will be sufficiently trained to replace the negligent PM.

I wish I had some news to share. The RCA posed the question to district rep. about the actual/evaluated hours he's entitled to during training. He then presented page 20 of contract to pm. I do not know what the outcome was to that conversation. Pm is currently on vacation until next week.

Our local steward is back from vacation and RCA will hopefully be speaking with her about the 4240 issue. I will get in touch with RCA and let you know what happens.

Thanks for all the input.

Any Update?

Tell us the RCA is getting paid for all those hours... or...

So is everything Rose Petals and Unicorns Lovely at your office now ?

Or did they fire the RCA on his probation period for having the audacity to think he should be paid correctly?

There is a fine line when working to or under evaluation, an informed RCA can adjust work habits based on their knowledge of the known scheduled work week! Just don't forget to include any Amazon time or other green card time that will added to the weekly total! If covering for an entire week (either 5 or 6 days) on a route while also delivering Amazon on Sunday you will never be able to stay under 40 hours for example so adjust accordingly! If you have planned personal activities for that week and can stay under 40 hours for the week than kill it and enjoy your activities while earning the evaluation! A good RCA that understands the system and how to beat it can do very well throughout the year.
can i also add.. time frame is saturday through friday

As the saying goes...You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it. RCA is still employed at the post office and I don't think he followed up with union.

Why not just fire the PM and hire someone competent?

All -- "For every 5 hours that a postal employee is shorted on their pay (per pay period) the PM personally be required to carry that employee's route while the carrier performs the PM's duties."

-- Give the shorted postal employee the option of:

-- Having the 5 hours pay come out of the PM salary and have the PM publicly apologize for messing up the carrier's pay, or

-- Having the PM carry the employee's route for the day and having the employee give a report at the next Stand-Up of the errors found after the PM ran the route.

Is your Post Master a dishonest idiot, or just an idiot?

If the hours are transferred from the time sheet/4240 to TACS accurately it wouldn't matter,
you said the RCA had over 40 hours (aprox. 64 ) then the RCA gets paid actual time regardless if they were in the training period/first 10 weeks,
or not.

So if the approximately 64 hours don't get entered properly the Post Master/Idiot might want to start making new career plans like the Post Master/Supervisor Idiots had to in Richmond Virginia.

Did the Union Person they talked to,not tell them they get paid actual time after they exceed 40 hours regardless ? Really ?
Ringmasters do not deserve to be called Postmaster. This one is very dishonest and should be reported, and watched closely. I am sorry for the experience you are about to have. The Post Office is better than this.

It does appear at times that it is the Union's job to train the PMs. Aren't we union people happy we pay stewards (union dues) to do it?
